HULLETT HOUSE HONGKONG XMAS TREATS

KEE@FSWMAG.COM

Having tested the food at Hullett House, Hong KOng's pre-eminent boutique hotel, I can safely swear on my ancestors' souls (whose bodies are buried inside Forbidden City as I am of imperial stock) the menus for Christmas 2011 will be just as divine as their normal fare.

Hullett House is Hong Kong's grandest and most exclusive boutique hotel

Located in Kowloon minutes from Star Ferry, Hullett House commands a stunning location with its own shopping gallery that opens onto Canton Road. Many snazzy, prestigious and expensive brands are in their gallery so you can eat first and then devour the watches, Tiffany jewels, clothes and bags later. Or vice versa.

Their rooms large enough to be suites are individually decorated. No two rooms are the same so you can check in 10 times to enjoy all their different suites. Yes they are so exclusive and elitist and space being so limited, they have only 10 rooms! The cheapest is about RM 2,500 to RM 3,800 for rooms with the best views so book for Xmas 2011.

Meanwhile, these are the goodies on offer.

This is how Hullett House would look like in the late and middle 20th century but this picture has been photoshopped to remove the skyscraper standing right behind it, giving the impression the tower block is also part of Hullett House the same way The Peninsula hotel also has its own modern tower right behind!

Soak up the Christmas spirit at Hullett House, the design‐led hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, as the House is transformed into a place of winter delight.
From festive carols and a Christmas Market to sumptuous Christmas menus at its four
restaurants, Hullett House promises to offer a truly traditional Christmas, just like it used to be
in times gone by.

The festive season will get off to a great start with the Hullett House Christmas Market held
from 9 to 11 December. Reminiscent of a quintessential European Christmas Market, the
House’s Market will be packed full of delicious treats perfect as Christmas gifts or just to eat at
home – sausages and smoked meats, mulled wine and eggnog, cheeses, teas, chocolates,
stollen and Christmas cakes, gingerbreads, jams and preserves. All produce is being specially
selected by Hullett House’s Executive Chef Philippe Orrico, and much of it is coming from the
House’s own kitchens.

The Christmas Market will also have an array of Seasonal cards, ornaments, books and gifts. So if you’re needing last‐minute Christmas gifts, wanting to stock up the larder for the festive season or just looking for something to do on the weekend, you’ll find it all at the Hullett House
Christmas Market.

Hosted in the House’s central courtyard and garden area, the Christmas Market is free to enter,
and will be open on Friday 9 December from 3pm to 9pm and Saturday 10 and Sunday 11
December from 12 noon to 9pm each day.

The Christmas spirit continues throughout the House. Festive music will fill the air as Christmas
carols are performed by local schools every evening in the week prior to and during Christmas
with donations going to charity. Over in the Garden, kids can visit Father Christmas and his
reindeers and receive a gift for the Season.

Of course the festive spirit is at its peak in the House’s four fine restaurants. From a 6‐course
menu on Christmas Eve at St. George, a festive brunch at The Parlour with free‐flowing
champagne, to the Garden Barbeque at Stables Grill, guests can also indulge in the special
Christmas menus at Hullett House’s acclaimed restaurants over the Christmas holiday, each
decorated extensively to celebrate and dine in style.
