A. Lange & Sohne Ref. 701, Patek Philippe Ref. 5099 Jeweled Ladies’ Watches and Fine Rolex Timepieces offered at Antiquorum Auction in Geneva

GENEVA; Antiquorum Auctioneers, the world's premier auctioneers of modern and vintage timepieces, is looking forward to its auction of “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces” at the Hotel Richemond Geneva on March 17th. The sale offers a set of jeweled Patek Philippe ladies watches, unique Rolex lots, a series of magnificent Jaeger LeCoulture timepieces and a Henry Capt, Musique D’amour Repeating Musical Watch with a secret … a hidden erotic automaton. Previews of the lots for auction will be held throughout Geneva, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Antiquorum is proud to offer for the first time at auction, A. Lange & Sohne Pour le Merite Tourbillon, Ref. 701, limited edition in 18K white gold. Made circa 1996 in a limited edition of 150 examples – only 25 of which were produced in white gold. This extremely fine and equally rare wristwatch with visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, 36-hour power reserve is accompanied by proof of origin from A. Lange & Sohne and is the first example in white gold to appear at auction.
Lot 541, estimate: 180,000 CHF - 280,000 CHF

Also up for auction is a unique and exceptional set of four jeweled watches from Patek Philippe, “Gondolo Cabriolet – Butterflies,” Ref. 5099. Made as a unique set with hand-crafted and jeweled covers and special dials, sold on February 8th, 2008. The wristwatches are 18K pink and white gold and feature colored straps and concealed dials of special design. Each cover displays a unique varicolored gold butterfly design set with diamonds and colored sapphires. Accompanied by the original Patek Philippe fitted boxes, Certificates of Origin, hang-tags and booklets.

Another noteworthy timepiece is the Henry Capt, Musique D’amour - Repeating Musical Watch With Four Actions With Concealed Erotic Automaton. Made circa 1810. Extremely fine and very rare, 18K gold and painted on enamel, two-train, quarter-repeating musical watch with two automaton scenes – musicians and birds automaton scene on the dial plate and concealed erotic automaton scene, playing at will.
Lot 156, estimate: 80,000 CHF - 120,000 CHF
Jaeger-LeCoultre enthusiasts will enjoy bidding on this fine example. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2 in platinum, no. 50/75. Made in a limited edition of 75 pieces, sold on February 2nd, 2011. Very fine and rare, large, rectangular, reversible platinum wristwatch with visible Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 174 movement and inclined two-cage multiaxis spherical tourbillon, 50-hour power reserve and 24-hour indication, “1000 Hours Control”, and an 18K white gold double deployant clasp. Accompanied by the original fitted box, guarantee certificate, certificate of origin, instruction booklet and magnifier lens.
Lot 159, estimate: 180,000 CHF - 240,000 CHF

Patek Philippe fans will have an opportunity to bid on the Patek Philippe Ref. 3970 in 18K white gold originally ordered with arabic numerals, up for the first known time at auction. Made circa 2003, this very fine and important, water-resistant, 18K white gold wristwatch features a round button chronograph, register, perpetual calendar, moon phases, leap year, 24-hour indication and an 18K white gold Patek Philippe deployant clasp. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe box, spare solid 18K white gold back and push-pin.
Lot 547, estimate: 100,000 CHF - 200,000 CHF
Another unique presentation is the Patek Philippe Dome Clock, “Pièce Unique - Pendulette Dôme Echassiers dans les Papyrus,” Ref. 1379.
Made in 1991, sold in 1992, this very fine and unique, solar-powered and electromechanical, brass table clock features polychrome cloisonné enamel panels depicting scenes of exotic birds in the papyrus swamps. Accompanied by the travel fitted box and an extract from the archives.
Lot 549, estimate: 50,000 CHF - 80,000 CHF
Antiquorum is pleased to present several noteworthy Rolex timepieces, including  Rolex Ref. 6098, Honeycomb Star Dial in 18K yellow gold. Oyster Perpetual, Officially Certified Chronometer, made circa 1953. Fine and extremely rare, center seconds, self-winding, water-resistant. Property of the original family.
Lot 390, estimate: 16,000 CHF - 22,000 CHF
Another very rare example and one of only eight produced is the Rolex Ref. 1831, Platinum Day-Date with Stella Dial, No. 5/8. Oyster Perpetual, Day-Date, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified. Sold in 1977 to Iran. Fine and very rare, tonneau-shaped, center seconds, selfwinding, water-resistant, platinum and diamond wristwatch with a platinum Rolex bracelet with platinum double deployant clasp.
Lot 530 Estimate: 25,000 CHF - 35,000 CHF
Also up for auction is the often-coveted Rolex Ref. 6263 Paul Newman Topical Outer Track Oyster Cosmograph, made in 1971. Very fine and very rare, water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with black bezel, round-button chronograph, registers, tachometer and a stainless steel Rolex Ref. 78350 Oyster bracelet. Accompanied by a fitted box and booklet. Property of the original family.
Lot 534, estimate: 65,000 CHF - 85,000 CHF

An exceptionally rare Edouard Perregaux Two-Minute Tourbillon Double-Dialled watch is sure to inspire competitive bidding. Made circa 1875, this very fine keyless pocket watch is large and heavy, made of 18K yellow gold, and features quarter-repeating, double-dial, hunting-case, with visible two-minute tourbillon, triple-date calendar, moon phases and moon’s age indication.
Lot 416, estimate: 80,000 CHF - 120,000 CHF
Another exceptional ladies watch is the Cartier platinum, diamond and sapphire bracelet watch, made in 1912. Almost certainly unique, this large, ‘carré aux angles arrondis’, is made with platinum, white and black diamonds and sapphires and features an integral platinum, diamond and sapphire-set expanding bracelet with individually sprung links and concealed clasp.
