special exhibition celebrating 15 years of crystal clear skin in Malaysia
chronicled SK-II’s rich heritage and scientific breakthroughs in skin care, in
addition to showcasing the skin transformations of its brand ambassadors, Lee
Sinje and Fauziah Latiff over the years and the testimonials of loyal SK-II users

Led by Dr. Kukizo Miyamoto, Principal
Scientist, Research and Development, P&G Beauty, Japan, the Akita Study
took place in Japan and involved 108 Japanese females between the ages of 15 to
76.
Using a series of advanced technical
equipment and skin counseling tools, SK-II scientists measured the quality of
participants’ skin condition over the course of ten years, from 1999 to 2010.
The skin changes were benchmarked against an overall score developed by SK-II

Lee Sinje

Discovered
by director Sylvia Chang in a newcomer contest when she was a high school
student, Malaysian-born Lee Sinje has since gained recognition as a serious actress with a penchant for playing physically and
emotionally challenging roles.
Sinje
released her first album in 1996. After
releasing a couple of albums, she made the decision to make the transition from
singing to acting, driven by her passion for acting.
Sinje
made her debut as an actress in 1999 and in 2001 won
the Piper Heidsieck New Talent Award at the Berlin Film Festival for her first
movie “The Betel-Nut Beauty". “The Eye” was her mainstream
breakthrough, and her performance in the movie resulted in three Best Actress wins at the Golden Horse Awards,
Hong Kong Film Awards and Golden Bauhinia Awards in 2002 and 2003. In 2006, she received three Best Actress
nominations for her performance in “Re-cycle”. In 2011, her movie
“Sleepwalker” was selected as a competing film at the 24th Tokyo
International Film Festival.
Despite
her busy schedule, Sinje devotes much of her time to help those in need. With three other close friends in the entertainment circle, Gigi Leung,
Valen Hsu and Charlie Yeung, Sinje founded the Little Yellow Flower
Foundation, an organization that
helps underprivileged children by providing them with moral support as well as
the means for proper education. Little Yellow Flower started a nutritious
lunch and tuition program, and from 2010 till now, more than 40 children have
been taken care of. This program is on-going.
She
is also involved in the Hope Education Foundation and is a life-time
volunteer of World Vision.
She is particularly passionate about the organization’s child
sponsorship program.
Besides acting, Sinje
is also passionate about design and art.
In November 2011, she held her first solo painting exhibition “Hums – Lee Sinje
Solo Exhibition” at Taipei Keng’s Art Gallery. There were more than 10 art
pieces featured including paintings and video installations. Her exhibition
received extensive interest from both media and art collectors.
In 2010, she founded
the fashion brand CACAC and in 2011, unveiled Cacac City Romance, the first collection she designed.
Sinje spent close to
six months to shoot her next movie project, Inferno 3D. Inferno 3D is the first
3D fire disaster movie with a budget of over 1 billion RMB. The movie will be
released in Oct 2013.
Sinje was appointed
SK-II’s Global Brand Ambassador in 2008, and has been the brand’s loyal user
for six years now. As she puts it, “It was love at first sight all those years
ago – and SK-II still works beautifully for my skin”.
