SULTANAH KALSOM OF PAHANG HOSTS DINNER FOR FRIENDS IN LONDON

Sultanah Pahang flew into London from Kuala Lumpur via Singapore and invited Dato Tiffanee Marie Lim of Limkokwing University, celebrity hairstylist Dar, Mimi, Louisa and myself to meet at Hari's Salon on 233 King's Road before adjoining to Italian restaurant Mozzarella&More 3 minutes walk away.

Dar (he is so famous he goes by a single name) is one of London's top hair stylists and is so successful he works only on Thursday and Saturday at Hari's so go there to fix your locks on these 2 days only.

Of course, being so talented he has to be Malaysian and he was born in Taiping, Perak many moons ago. His father was with the British Army and he came to London to seek fame and fortune and got both.

He counts  HRH Sultanah Kalsom as a regular client and the Sultanah of Pahang even consented to be photographed with him. A big honour!

At Hari's, who should be downstairs fixing her nails but Rita Ora! This singer hit the bigtime last year when her debut album opened at Number One! '

'Ora' spawned 3 number one singles 'Hot Right Now', 'How We Do' and 'R.I.P'. Rita Ora was in Malaysia recently so that automatically made us friends.

So I went to her and introduced myself as a rock star wannabe. "Oh are you a Malaysian rock star?" asked Rita Ora whose ethnicity is Serbian with a name like that though she is British based. Her parents are Kosovar-Albanian and she was born in what is now Kosovo.

I sighed, "I am a failed singer so I just dress as one!"

"I am so sorry, don't give up," said Rita Ora soothingly.

I wanted to take her photos as top manicurist Sophie Robson was doing her nails but she said later once her nails were done.

I told her I could introduce her to Sultanah Kalsom and Rita Ora's eyes opened wide. She asked, "How do I address her? I would love to meet her."

I said, "Just address the Sultanah as Sultanah Kalsom, Sultanah or Your Royal Highness."

Dato Tiffanee chatted with Rita about her Malaysian trip. Said Rita, "I love Malaysia and enjoyed my time there. The weather was great!"

Her parents brought her to London aged 1 so 365 sunny days a year must seem miraculous as it drizzled and rained in London intermittently in London!

Sultanah Kalsom consented to be introduced to Rita Ora who in turn introduced us to her mother and sister who is her PR manager.

Dinner was at Mozarella&More and Sultanah Kalsom ordered so much she had to tapau the food home for her staff.

It was the most pleasant evening and one could not hope for a better time!

5 MAY IN THAILAND IS CORONATION DAY WHEN THAIS CELEBRATE THEIR KING BHUMIBOL ADULYADEJ'S 63 YEARS ON THE THRONE

KEE@FSWMAG.COM
5 MAY WILL BE A RED LETTER DAY FOR MALAYSIA AND THAILAND.

On this day, 5 May, Malaysians will vote for Barisan to form the government and Thais will celebrate Coronation Day to commemorate the 63rd year of King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the throne of Thailand.

And Sala Hospitality Group of Hotels will toast the King of Thailand with an array of tempting offers for tourists!

CORONATION DAY
Celebrating 63 Years on the Throne
On the 5th of May the Royal Kingdom of Thailand will pay respect to the King, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, to commemorate his coronation in 1950. Every year Thai people rejoice and express their affection and loyalty to him by organizing celebrations on his coronation day.
Coronation day is a tradition that dates back to 1851 when King Mongkut thought that the day was auspicious and should be shared with his subjects.

Under the reign of HM King Bhumibol, the ceremony takes place over three days; the first day will be a merit-making ceremony by the King followed on the second day with an evening chant led by the Chief of Brahmin priests and later Buddhist Monks. On the final day food is offered to monks, the Navy presents a 21-gun salute and the King presents Royal Decorations to people who have made valuable contributions to the country.

Long Live The King!
