The Mandarin Oriental Spa is world class

OF COURSE THIS BEING PARIS AND MANDARIN ORIENTAL BEING THE TOP TWO HOTEL BRANDS IN THE WORLD TOGETHER WITH SHANGRILA, A NEW HOTEL IN PARIS CANNOT BE A HO-HUM PLACE TO HANG YOUR HAT AND JUMP INTO BED.

LOCATED IN RUE ST HONORE, THE FINEST AND MOST INTERESTING SHOPPING IS RIGT AT YOUR DOORSTEP. TURN RIGHT AND YOU SEE FAB BOUTIQUES. TURN LEFT AND YOU SEE FAB BOUTIQUES!

THIS IS THE SORT OF HOTEL I LIKE MOST. NO NEED TO TREK HALF A KILOMETRE TO GET TO THE NEAREST LOUIS VUITTON, CHANEL OR GUCCI.

FOR HIGHCLASS PEOPLE LIKE ME AND YOU, AHEM, PARIS IS QUITE SMALL AND MANAGEABLE. ALL YOU NEED ARE RUE ST HONORE, AVENUE MONTAIGNE WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE EVEN CLASSIER AS IT IS AN 'AVENUE' WHICH DENOTES STATELINESS AND TREE LINED STREET AND CHAMPS ELYSEES WHICH IS CONVENIENTLY NEXT TO EACH OTHER.

IN FACT, YOU CAN WALK FROM MANDARIN ORIENTAL, PASS BUDDHA BAR AND YOU ARE WITHIN THROWING DISTANCE TO AVENUE MONTAIGNE. TAXIS ARE PLENTIFUL BUT IT DEPENDS ON YOUR FENG SHUI HOW LONG YOU NEED TO WAIT TO JUMP INTO ONE. ALLOCATE 1 MINUTE TO 30 MINUTES! AND THEY CAN BE CRANKY. THEY NORMALLY DON'T ALLOW ANY PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT SO IF THERE ARE FOUR OF YOU, START BEGGING. I ONCE SAT IN THE FRONT SEAT AND STARTED TO COMB MY HAIR AND GOT A SCOLDING AS THE TAXI DRIVER FEARED I WOULD SHOWER HIS CAB WITH DANDRUFF! PLUS BROKEN HAIR! AND MY HAIR IS STRONGER THAN STRONG!

AS MANDARIN ORIENTAL OPENED LAST MONTH IN MAY, IT IS OFFERING A SPECIAL DEAL---875 EUROS (RNM 3,633 OR SO) WHICH IS PRICEY BUT YOU GET 300 EUROS CREDIT PER DAY FOR YOU TO DINE, WINE AND ENJOY THE SPA. AN EFFECTIVE BUT SNEAKY WAY OF FORCING YOU TO PAY IN ADVANCE FOR FOOD, DRINKS AND SERVICES! BUT YOU WOULD BE TRYING OUT THE HOTEL'S RESTAURANTS ANYWAY SO THIS IS OK. YOU WOULDN'T BE STAYING HERE AND EATING AT 'QUICK' WOULD YOU? 'QUICK' IS THE FRENCH EQUIVALENT TO MCDONALD.
