KL FASHION WEEKEND 18 AND 19 NOVEMBER AT PUBLIKA, SOLARIS DUTAMAS KL

KEE@FSWMAG.COM

WITH MIFA FASHION WEEK FROM 21 TO 27 NOVEMBER AT ZEBRA SQUARE, I WAS RATHER CONFUSED WITH KL FASHION WEEKEND.

I MEAN, FASHIONABLE AS WE ARE, HOW MANY FASHION WEEKS CAN WE HANDLE IN ONE MONTH? ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY RUN BACK TO BACK? THEN I NOTICED THE LITTLE WORD THAT ESCAPED MY USUALLY EAGLE EYES---'WEEKEND'.

THIS EVENT AT PUBLIKA SHOPPING GALLERY AT SOLARIS DUTAMAS SOMEWHERE IN SERI HARTAMAS IS ONLY FOR A WEEK-END, NOT A WEEK!

THE KL FASHION WEEKEND IS ON FRIDAY 18 AND SATURDAY 19 ONLY.

There will be 5 fashion shows featuring what are already selling in the department stores so you will not have to wait 4 to 6 months for what you desire to reach the shelves. Plus, you get a minimum discount of 25% AND another 5 to 10% for clothes modelled and worn on the catwalk. You might get a bit of armpit smell if the model did not shower but is worth the 5 to 10% additional discount!

Discounted premium brands take to the runway

Publika Shopping Gallery, Solaris Dutamas, plays host to the inaugural KL Fashion Weekend 2011, a two-day fashion and shopping extravaganza featuring the country’s biggest shopping retailers, Parkson, Debenhams, Publika, Metrojaya and Tangs.

Modelled after the highly popular London Fashion Weekend, KL Fashion Weekend 2011 is supported by Tourism Malaysia in collaboration with Parkson, Debenhams, Publika, Metrojaya and Tangs as part of the Malaysian Year End Sale (MYES) campaign. The unique, “sales” fashion showcase will feature local and international top fashion labels at discounted rates.

KL Fashion Weekend 2011, which takes place from 18th to 19th November 2011 will present a total of five fashion-forward shows featuring directional trends for hair, make-up and fashion from the Autumn-Winter 2011/2012 collection and a special presentation by KL Alta Moda.

Unlike the usual runway shows which introduce what’s coming to the stores, this show highlights what’s already in stores, with the added bonus of a price slash. Discounts start from 25% onwards and an additional 5%-10% will be given for items modelled on the runway.

Fashion’s finest shopping event, KL Fashion Weekend 2011, will celebrate its closing ceremony with an exclusive show by KL Alta Moda which features Malaysia’s most trendsetting fashion designers, Faisol Abdullah of Jendela KL, Datuk Radzuan Radziwill and Khoon Hooi. Adding to the glitz and excitement are a group of British fashion designers who will showcase their Spring/Summer 2012 collection hot off the runway of London Fashion Week last September 2011.
