BEING SO HIGH CLASS, REFINED AND WORLDLY WISE, I AM VERY PARTIAL TO TRUFFLES, THE WORLD'S MOST EXPENSIVE AND RAREST MUSHROOM.

Traditionally, the best truffles come from France but that delightful nation no longer monopolises the production of high quality truffles as Mundaring in Western Australia also produces this delicacy.

Since few Malaysians have heard of Mundaring, this town is only 45 minutes by car from Perth and the drive is so charming and relaxing you might wish it takes 2 hours!

So if you have some money and lots of good taste, go to Mundaring Truffle Festival at the weekend of 28 and 29 July this year.

If you have not tried eating noodles or spaghetti or any food drizzled with sliced truffles, then you have not lived. Anyway all the most expensive dishes in France and elsewhere all contain truffles, either diced and sliced for those on a budget or chunks of them for the rich who just sign the bill without checking.

Perth is so near to Malaysia and the Aussies are more friendly than the Froggies and everything's cheaper than France so live it up. The world will end this December so this is your last chance to enjoy Mundaring Truffles Festival though presumably we can continue eating truffles in heaven and for free somemore but don't take chances OK in case I don't see you there.

Only the truly rich can afford to buy and eat this giant truffle but you can afford slices of them. Truffles are like abalone so beloved by the Chinks. Only the rich chinks can afford to eat a whole abalone but many can afford sliced ones with noodles

Sliced truffles are drizzled onto risotto or rice or noodles so you enjoy the exquisite aroma and heavenly taste without breaking the bank

Every drop, slice and piece counts as truffles are worth their weight in gold so if you drop your truffle on the floor, pick or lick it up
