PART 2; HANTU GANGSTER

THE MOVIE BY NAMEWEE CALLED 'HANTU GANGSTER' IS FUN TO WATCH...PROVIDED YOU SUSPEND ALL LOGIC, COHERENCE AND FLOW OF EVENTS.

Certain scenes baffle me; why does Namewee appear to give a blowjob to someone under the sarong and why did he appear black after emerging from the sarong? It looks pornographic to me though of course I like the scene as I always think of sex.
However I am told by producer Fred Chong that our hero was merely searching for the ring in darkness and hence he emerged blackened and had to scrub and rub the colour off later in the bathroom.

Also how come Te Sai  (which means Pig Shit in Hokkien) has such a rude young son who insults him incessantly? I don't think such a creature exists as the way the boy berates his father is beyond funny.

I love Amber Chia's performance which she does admirably despite her silent role as she  did not utter a single syllable ad only rattles her chain. Amber is described as the Angel of Death  by the 3 ghosts who fear her. But this means nothing as the ghosts are already, well, dead so why be petrified of an angel of death? Now I shall look at Amber differently as she plays the role so well now she looks scary to me.

There are inconsistencies and inscrutable scenes that maklittle sense though Namewee's attempt at 1Malaysianising is commendable with several renditions of Negara Ku. Some may take offence at the stock image of the Chinese love of gambling and the Indian weakness of alcohol as Dato David Arumugam is always clutching his bottle of what we may assume to be toddy.

But all's well that ends well and if you just sit back and relax without using too much grey matter, then it is a pleasantly enjoyable film worth your money.
