Yesterday, Jaeger-LeCoultre, the reference in Swiss fine watchmaking, held a star-studded Opening Ceremony for the “Manufacture Comes To You” exhibition at The Landmark atrium, where over 250 guests, celebrities and luminaries were in attendance, including Susan Sng, Kennis Tai, Karson Choi and Tze Tze Lam.

The Opening Ceremony was jointly officiated by Julien Renard, Managing Director for North Asia of Jaeger-LeCoultre, David Martin, Head of Retail of Hongkong Land Limited, and top-model Gaile Lai. Special guest for the night, Gaile Lai, wore the Rendez-Vous Tourbillon Enamel, declaring its beauty and craftsmanship as “an unrivalled feat in the art of watchmaking”.

A-List models, actors and actresses including Christine Kuo, Elisa Sum, Irene Wang, Jocelyn Luko, Anthony Sandstrom and Kenneth Ma presented a collection of elegant and outstanding timepieces by Jaeger-LeCoultre during a catwalk show, with standout pieces including Master Twinkling Diamonds, Reverso Neva, Joaillerie 101 Etrier, Rendez-Vous, Duomètre à Quantieme Lunaire and Master Grand Tourbillon.

Renowned as the most inventive manufacturer in fine watchmaking, Jaeger-LeCoultre further revealed its mastery in invention, dedication to creativity and passion for timeless pieces by inviting guests to witness the delicate hands of the brand’s very own Swiss watchmaker at work throughout the exhibition.

“This year we are very proud to bring such timeless pieces to the truly unique “Manufacture Comes To You” exhibition in Hong Kong. This exhibition is also a testament to the ongoing support and success of Jaeger-LeCoultre across the region,” said Julien Renard, Managing Director for North Asia of Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Iconic and Timeless Inventions
The “Manufacture Comes To You” exhibition also showcased some of the most iconic and impressive invention pieces made by the Manufacture, including Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie – one of the world’s most complicated watches, Duomètre Sphérotourbillon – an award-winning and revolutionary creation, and Master Compressor Extreme LAB 2 – ideal instrument for the most extreme explorer. These timepieces will be on display throughout the exhibition.

Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie
A masterpiece with a total of 26 complications – features and components in a watch – this is the only Sonnerie watch in the world able to chime the entire Westminster melody, marking a world first. The product of a five-year stringent development process, the rear of the watch presents a stunning display of the highly complex movement. The exceptional craftsmanship, beauty and sheer elegance of the watch showcased in an 18 Karat white gold case makes it a rare find.

Duomètre Sphérotourbillon
Jaeger-LeCoultre started a whole new chapter in watchmaking history with this creation in 2012, equipped with an unprecedented multi-axis tourbillion. The revolutionary ‘Dual-Wing’ concept has resulted in the very first tourbillion, precisely adjustable watch. Representing a unique combination of unrivalled technical performance, elegance and spectacular complication, the Duomètre Sphérotourbillon exceeds the expectations of even the most demanding connoisseurs and collectors.

Master Compressor Extreme LAB 2
Equipped with a revolutionary mechanical chronograph movement, designed to weather even the most challenging of conditions, this watch combines maximum ergonomics with hard-to-match precision and reliability – thereby redefining the norm for extreme watches. Presented in a TiVan 15 titanium alloy case, with scratchproof high-tech zirconium ceramic bezel, the Master Compressor Extreme LAB 2 was one of the three timepieces that guided the mountaineers when ascending the impressive 6,589 metre virgin peak summit in the Himalayas.

Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre
A major player in watchmaking history since 1833, Jaeger-LeCoultre is the first Manufacture to have been established in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland. It played a pioneering role by uniting the full range of technical and artistic professions under one roof and made an indelible imprint on the watchmaking development of the entire region. The Manufacture has an impressive range of world firsts, superlative creations and legendary models to its credit, including the Reverso, the Duoplan, the Master Control, the Memovox Polaris, the Gyrotourbillon and the Atmos.

Guided by time-honored know-how and a constant quest for technical enhancements, the master-watchmakers, engineers and technicians craft each watch in harmony with the same passion. Each masterpiece, heir to 179 years of expertise, calls for the exercise of no less than 40 professions and benefits from cutting-edge technologies while being crafted in harmony with the noblest traditions of the Vallée de Joux. Building on a vast heritage encompassing 1,231 calibres and 398 registered patents, Jaeger-LeCoultre remains the reference in high-end watchmaking.
