INTRODUCING EAU DE LACOSTE
The sensual feeling of pure white cotton on skin
encapsulated in a new LACOSTE fragrance for women.

Modern, iconic and breathtakingly simple, LACOSTE celebrates the debut of EAU DE LACOSTE, the new signature fragrance for women from the brand that captures the playful and sensual spirit of an enduring legend.

The Fragrance
Creating a fragrance that celebrates the iconic traits of a fashion brand and translates them into a sensorial experience is the charge of the P&G Design Team together with the fashion brand.

"For EAU DE LACOSTE, the universe of the brand is very clear: the iconic crocodile, the petit piqué cotton and the classic lineage of the fashion label,” says Antoine Delgrange, Global Marketing Director P&G Prestige. “So we looked at turning this simple fashion design philosophy into a feminine and beautiful sensorial experience,” he adds.

The result is a fragrance that captures the simple luxury of the refreshing feeling of pure white cotton on skin.

To evoke the crisp, clean nature of cotton, a bouquet of white flowers brings to life the fresh, cooling caress of the fabric and conveys the sense of purity that white symbolizes.

Channeling a mood of soft sensuality, creamy balsam tones add a resonant base. EAU DE LACOSTE is built on a classical fragrance structure, where the fragrance evolves smoothly from top to base notes over time, but superimposing modern ingredients on traditional ingredients, to generate a much lighter fragrance profile.

EAU DE LACOSTE effervesces with sparkling freshness via juicy top notes of White Pineapple, with Mandarin and Bergamot from the unspoilt Italian region of Calabria.

Expressing the purity that lies at the heart of the LACOSTE brand, the elegant, white floralcy of Orange Flower, Jasmine Sambac are woven with the almost textural quality of Pineapple Flower to create a delicately clean, natural femininity. A creamy and voluptuous sensuality lingers at the base, resonant of Sandalwood and Vanilla enveloped with Vetyver and Peru Balsam. Says Antoine Delgrange: “There is something truly sophisticated about a fragrance with a simple and unpretentious formula.”

The Bottle
That desire for simplicity is immediately apparent through the specific choice of a round flacon to capture EAU DE LACOSTE. This clever and contemporary translation of the LACOSTE lineage is the work of LACOSTE Design Director Christophe Pillet.

Ultimately pure and modern, the perfect glass sphere, graduating in colour from nude to white, is completed by a petit piqué-textured cap. Around the neck of the bottle is a collar of silky cotton thread from which a metal charm dangles, embossed with the crocodile logo. Says Christophe Pillet: “With LACOSTE, the house signatures are so strong: the croc, the cotton that’s used to weave the petit piqué, so it was natural to bring these things together.” But it’s the subtle, more feminine details – the metallic logo executed in a coppery nude mordoré shade screened onto the flacon, the sophistication of the croc charm, the tactile quality of the petit piqué cap, and the perfect rotundity of the bottle - that make it as desirable as any piece of jewelry.

The LACOSTE Woman
With an unconventional chic twist, the LACOSTE woman is modern and independent. Her fragrance highlights her personality unseizable. Authenticity, “joie de vivre”, empathy and elegance are the core values of the brand shared by the LACOSTE woman. Her perfume reflects naturally her character and sublimates her silhouette.

Today, with apparel, jewelry, leathergoods, eyewear, shoes, watches and fragrances, LACOSTE offers a global wardrobe that women can wear every day.

The Face
LACOSTE celebrates its new signing, American actress Amy Adams who perfectly embodies the attributes that represent the LACOSTE woman. Her elegance, spontaneity and effortless style resonate with the confident, natural simplicity that characterizes the LACOSTE brand. “Amy has a natural grace and modernity that both women and men admire,” says Antoine Delgrange. “She captures the mood of LACOSTE in a truly engaging way.”

The recipient of three Academy Award nominations, Amy Adams’ stellar reputation has been earned: her down to earth approach and strong work ethic coupled with a refreshing lack of pretence have garnered some desirable roles including that of representing LACOSTE. “I’m so excited to be the face of LACOSTE’s newest fragrance for women,” said Adams. “LACOSTE has long been established as an iconic brand and I’m honored to be a part of their latest campaign.”

Amy Adams has an instinctive affinity with fragrance: “I’ve always been someone who notices fragrances, and I can often recall someone’s scent long after they’ve left the room. It’s incredible how your senses can be so acute that they’re able to trigger an emotion or memory with just the hint of a specific fragrance.”

The Campaign
What better way to illustrate the sensual caress of Eau de LACOSTE, than a simple, captivating TV and print campaign that encompasses the lightness of touch, purity and freshness of the fragrance as well as the playfulness and spontaneity of the brand?

Says Antoine Delgrange: “The campaign is simple: exquisite lighting, a clean colour palette, nude background; Amy wears a white cotton shirt. The idea of the glass ball traversing the skin refers directly to the bottle shape but is also an emotional interpretation of the spirit of LACOSTE,” he adds. “Something that is worn close, as evanescent and diaphanous as fragrance so that the sensorial touch, that feeling of a light caress becomes fascinating; the viewer is transfixed by how Amy masters the ball – it is captivating and purely sensual. What could be more beautifully feminine?”

The soundtrack for the TV commercial is City Girl by the Jezebels, a soaring soundscape of otherworldly rock vocals that plays on the mood of the film.

The stills campaign, shot by Vincent Peters, who is known for his cinematic imagery and perfect ‘Hollywood’ lighting, showcases Amy’s innate beauty. “I believe that the picture expresses Amy’s particular natural charm,” says Vincent Peters. “I tried to capture Amy looking natural, rather than a specific pose, to achieve a portrait of a woman who is comfortable with herself, that shows her feelings.”

To highlight Amy Adam’s natural beauty, hair and make-up were kept casual and real with movement in the hair, nearly nude skin to reveal Amy Adam’s freckles and a neutral colour palette. “It’s a question of enhancing what is already there: healthy, fresh skin, lips barely more intense than their natural colour, shades of nude and taupe for the eyes, mascara to gently curve the lashes. It’s not about overplaying anything,” says Amy Adams’ make-up artist Stephen Sollitto.

AMY ADAMS SIGNS TO GLOBAL BRAND LACOSTE

“It’s such an honor and so flattering to be the face of EAU DE LACOSTE,” said Adams. Her enthusiasm for this particular role stems from a natural affinity for fragrance: “I think most of my memories are scent-related; it’s how I remember people,” says Adams. “I can always remember somebody’s smell for years, I have friends that have come and gone in my life and I’ll still remember how they smelled. Scent has been the thing that triggers emotion in me more than anything.”

As a fragrance fan, Adams is thrilled about the new LACOSTE scent: ‘I love fragrances, I really do. I have a collection and I’m really excited to be adding something new to it.”

Adams personal style is simple and chic. “I don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard. I want to be comfortable but at the same time look elegant and feminine. I try to make it look as effortless as possible.”
