Martell Launches Chinese New Year Edition Gift Box
The Perfect Two Form the Ideal Gift for the Season

Martell, known for producing the finest cognacs, is paying tribute to the history and heritage of top Cuban cigar brand, Cohiba, by launching a special edition gift box exclusively in Hong Kong. As the Chinese year of the Snake is arriving, the pack comes with a bottle of Martell Cohiba Cognac that comprises of ideal character and a unique humidor made in cedar wood – a flawless choice for the festival.

Cohiba Cognac blend is made from the finest eaux-de-vie from the ‘Grande Champagne’ growth area ideal for old cognacs. Aged between 40 to 50 years in oak cask, the Martell eaux-de-vie gradually releases a complex and intense aroma of berries and dried fruits, as well as floral notes, making the cognac a spectacular partner with the Havana cigars. The opening sensation is rounded, smooth and almost sweet, with a slightly nutty touch in the finish. The blend has 43% alcohol volume, close to the natural cognac strength.

The newly festive edition packs the blend into a humidor, a special container with constant humidity which is ideal for cigar storage. Showcasing the unique character of Martell Cohiba Cognac, the blend comes in an elegant bottle with a silk-screen print of a typical Cuban tobacco field landscape.

Martell’s Cohiba Cognac Gift Box is limited to 250 sets exclusively in Hong Kong, available at major liquor stores at a retail price of HK$5,100, starting from 25 January, 2013.

Born in 1694, Jean Martell founded his firm at the young age of 21, and thanks to his driving passion and business acumen, his enterprise grew rapidly. Jean Martell built on his links with the Channel Islands and England, and prospered in his native land during the reign of Louis XIV and beyond to the Netherlands, Germany and Scandinavia. Upon his death in 1753, he left a prosperous business with a good reputation to his widow and two sons, Jean and Frédéric. With the same enthusiasm and attention to quality as their father, Jean and Frédéric followed their father’s lead and upheld the name that sets the standard for others in the field.
As Martell cognac spread around the world to North America and Russia, to the Kings of England, the coast of China, Australia and Japan, this fine cognac has remained a symbol of contemporary French elegance and innovation.
