SOTHEBY'S SOLD RM 1.4 BILLION OF JEWELS IN 2012!

KEE@FSWMAG.COM
AT THE RATE SOTHEBY'S WAS SELLING PRECIOUS JEWELS ALL OF LAST YEAR, ANY VISITOR FROM OUTER SPACE WOULD ASSUME EUROPE, AMERICA AND JAPAN WERE BOOMING LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS.

All this despite the fact Europe is half-dead from its euro currency problems and USA is still suffering from 8% unemployment!

Only proves what I have been telling everyone all the time---the rich get richer or in the worst case scenario, lose just a few million ringgit!

As for the poor, well, bet they were wishing the world had ended on 21.12.12!

- Throughout 2012, prominent private collections fuelled strong sale results, featuring jewels owned by Brooke Astor, Estée Lauder, Evelyn H. Lauder, Mrs. Charles Wrightsman, Suzanne Belperron, Michael Wellby and more

- Sotheby’s held two rare ‘white glove’ auctions – 100% sold by lot – in 2012: Jewels from the Personal
