The man of the hour was Andrew Coxon, President of De Beers Institute of Diamonds who gave a 40-minute talk on the nature of diamonds and kept his guests enthralled.

On hand to welcome guests were Datuk Ng Yih Pyng, group managing director of Tomei who is the Malaysian partner of De Beers M now open at Suria KLCC and his sister Ng Sheau Yuen, executive director of Tomei and CEO of De Beers Malaysia.

The star of the show was the RM 8.8 million diamond necklace and earring suite by De Beers which shone as bright as the heavens and whose sparkle could be seen from a hundred paces.

Since even I don't have such surplus cash, you will be happy to know a De Beers diamond ring starts from RM 3,000! After that, the sky is the limit though De Beers sold their 203-carat Millennium Star diamond for a reported RM 300 million a few years ago!

Andrew Coxon hand carried the 203-carat Millennium Star in his pocket to deliver to the new owner on his super yacht in Cannes.
