DANIEL MANTZ, THE MOST HANDSOME 6 YEAR OLD BOY IN ENTIRE UNIVERSE AS CONFIRMED BY BUDDHA, JESUS CHRIST AND VISHNU, CELEBRATED HIS BIRTHDAT TODAY 8 AUGUST 2013 BY DONATING 140 GOODY BAGS EACH WORTH AT LEAST RM 122.

Daniel Mantz and his glam mother Princess Dr Becky Leogardo celebrated his 6th birthday today which also happens to be Hari Raya Aidil Fitri by visiting United Learning Centre, a Christian centre for deprived Burmese refugee children from 2 to 15.

The gods and angels in high heaven smiled on Daniel Mantz and his generous mother Princess Dr Becky Leogardo who must have earned much merit and good karma for their next rebirth. Too bad I won't be around then as I am confirmed to enter Nirvana and joined the  Godhead.

Anyway, as good Christians, Daniel and Princess Dr Becky Leogardo did their good deeds today by helping the poor kids from Myanmar who are here while waiting to be resettled.

Each goody bag contained a toothbrush worth RN 20, body spray worth RM 80, soap worth RM 20 and Washington red apple worth RM 2 so the total is RM 122.

In addition, each bag contained assorted small toys handpicked by Daniel Mantz from his vast collection of thousands of toys which are worth around RM 100,000 spread over the last 6 years of his young life!

Even Gloria, his 3 year old sister, joined by selecting her own toys to give away. However Gloria's twin brother Raphael only gave 1 toy car, proving he has strong Dutch blood!

I am amazed at how well behaved the Myanmarese kids are. They did not fight nor squabble over the gifts as I would have. They sang 'Happy Birthday' as Daniel Mantz cut his birthday cake and continued with a few more songs. Two even played their guitars. As we left, a small girl with 2 goody bags went to Princess Dr Becky who was inside her Vito and returned one bag to Princess Becky!

I almost fainted from shock!

If I were one of these underprivileged kids who were poor as church mice, I would have collected my goody bag then hide it and rejoin the queue knowing Daniel would not recognise me as the Burmese refugee kids all look vaguely similar! So for this poverty stricken girl to return an extra bag proves she is beyond petty greed! Good for her! I pray she and her friends will prosper in this kalpa and when they become rich, they will do the same as what Princess Dr Becky Leogardo has done for her!

Reaching Malaysia was considered good fortune as their parents and relatives had to pay RM 4,000 to RM 10,000 to human traffickers to smuggle them into neighbouring countries like Malaysia where they wait for United Nations to resettle them elsewhere.

They lined up patiently to collect their presents from birthday boy Daniel Mantz who happily gave them away. There were even goody bags for boys and girls!

It costs RM 10,000 a month to run United Learning Centre located in a rundown bungalow in off Jalan Imbi. The rental alone is RM 1,000 which is co-sponsored by the owner. I saw many computers which were donated and the interiors are kept clean and relatively tidy.

The founder of United Learning Centre is Mink Ong, MD of Mystique Universal which operates Carrera & Carrera, Davidoff Lifestyle, Gubelin and Garrard.

Mink recalled one incident as related by a refugee. "They were on a boat trying to escape the border police. A baby was crying. They tried to stop him by stuffing cloth into his mouth but to no avail. Then someone  grabbed him and threw him into the sea! It was either the baby or all of them! It's so sad."

Four years ago, Mink was asked by a friend from Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship to try raise funds. "I emailed all those in my address book and was inspired when so many rallied to this good cause. United Learning Centre has around 140 Burmese children who come daily for education and a decent meal with meat, veggies and fruit.

"For many, this is the only real meal for them as their parents return home very late. Around 40 board in the school as their parents work far away from KL.

"Here they can  learn and have fun in a safe environment. We provide basic needs like medicine and outings to Sunway Lagoon, the occasional movie and things that make up a happy childhood. We make do with what we have and improvise."
