THE MOUSETRAP COMING TO KL FROM 16 TO 20 OCTOBER 2013 AT DEWAN BANDARAYA KL! RM 80 TO RM 380!

KEE@FSWMAG.COM
BORDERS THE FAMOUS BOOKSTORE IS NOW OWNED BY MALAYSIANS! IT IS NOW OWNED AND OPERATED BY BERJAYA BOOKS SDN BHD, A WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF BERJAYA CORPORATION.

Borders is the official bookstore for The Mousetrap, the world's longest play written by Agatha Christie as a birthday present to her grandson Matthew Pritchard who is long a multimillionaire by doing nothing and sitting at home shaking his legs and receiving royalties from this ingenious and popular play.

Five guests arrive at a country hotel only to discover they are snowed in. A policeman turns up to announce a murderer is on his way and when a guest is murdered, all realise the killer is already here and it can be any of them!

And so a mousetrap is set to catch the murderer who can be a man or woman.

The play started in 1952 the same year as Queen Elizabeth II 's ascension to the throne! Both have been celebrating their Diamond Jubilee since last year.

I have seen it twice in London and can vouch for it on my ancestors' souls! It is that witty, clever and devilishly delightful!

Don't miss The Mousetrap's debut in Malaysia as it is the epitome of brilliant British theatre!

At RM 80 to RM 320 per ticket, sad to say it is the same prices as the original show in London but then this is an officially sanctioned cast of actors! Simply world class show!

The murderer is.... (go see the show as the producer promises to slit my throat if I reveal the identity here).

The Mousetrap is celebrating its 60th year in 2013! It has played at St Martin's theatre for decades. Before the show, enjoy dinner at The Ivy which is directly opposite. You probably won't get a table at The Ivy unless you are rich and famous but try anyway. A meal at The Ivy, one of London's best restaurants, costs more than a ticket to The Mousetrap!

The world’s most famous “who dunit?” is coming to KUALA LUMPUR!

AGATHA CHRISTIE’S “THE MOUSETRAP” 60TH ANNIVERSARY DIAMOND JUBILEE YEAR

The world’s longest running play and London West End’s longest running theatre production, “The Mousetrap” by Agatha Christie will be coming to Kuala Lumpur. Fans of crime thrillers must catch this world class production this coming October 2013.

The Producer, British Theatre Playhouse and the Promoter, Milestone Production is proud to announce their world class production of this most celebrated murder-mystery play, which opens at Auditorium of Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (16th October 2013) with performances up to Sunday  (20th October 2013).

On the 25th of November 1952 at the Ambassadors Theatre in the heart of London’s West End, a legend was born. That night saw the world premiere of a play that was to become a phenomenon in the history of world theatre. Written by one of the world’s most celebrated thriller writers, Dame Agatha Christie, the play was “The Mousetrap”.

Today, The Mousetrap holds numerous Guinness World Records ‘Firsts”, including the longest run of any show in the world including London’s West End longest running theatre production (no. 1 spot). This year, The Mousetrap celebrates its Diamond Anniversary, 60th year of performances in the West End.  At the time of writing, that is an astonishing twenty five thousand one hundred and fifty performances in London alone: six nights a week, eight shows a week - and not a week has been missed!

As part of these Diamond Anniversary celebrations, productions are now being staged in every continent around the world this year in many different languages. Mousetrap Productions Ltd in London has licensed the British Theatre Playhouse to produce The Mousetrap in Malaysia and the region as part of the 60th year of the play.

John Faulkner, co-producer of THE MOUSETRAP founded the British Theatre Playhouse with his Malaysian-born wife, Cecilia Leong-Faulkner. He appeared in the role of “Giles” in the 32nd year of “The Mousetrap” in the West End and is delighted to now be playing the role of “Major Metcalf”.

“The Mousetrap is seen by more than 10 million people! It comes to Kuala Lumpur with an all-British cast who have been in the West End productions and Denise Silvey from Mousetrap Productions Ltd. will be directing our production. It is indeed the world's most famous murder-mystery - the play is the world's longest running production in history, proof of its class and pedigree! The only way to find out why is to see it yourself” John says.

“We are thrilled and honoured to be bringing this little piece of British history to Malaysia as part of our 60th Anniversary celebration. The magical storytelling of Agatha Christie lives on in this both witty and scary tale of intrigue and murder”, says Denise Silvey, Production Director, The Mousetrap, St. Martin’s Theatre, London.

In order to bring this world class production to Malaysia, Milestone Production Sdn. Bhd. has decided to work with the world’s largest hotel chain, BEST WESTERN. BEST WESTERN PREMIER Dua Sentral is the Official Hotel and supporter for this prestigious event.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to the Official Promoter of this show, Milestone Production  who trusted BEST WESTERN PREMIER Dua Sentral for this partnership,” says Mr Ian Hurst, General Manager of BEST WESTERN PREMIER Dua Sentral.
From today onwards, exclusive offers await guests; be it for accommodation or dining:
