Firefly’s CEO, Ignatius Ong said in a statement, “As part of our growth and expansion plan, Firefly will focus on underserved and primary point-to-point strategy, particularly on expanding connections between West Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and including other potential points in southern Thailand”.

“The Subang – Medan route began operations in December 2008. It was very much welcomed by the citizens of Medan. At that point in time, its unique feature was in its airport location, Polonia International Airport, which was only 20 minutes away from the city. With the recent shift to Medan’s Kuala Namu International Airport, the new City Ticket Office (CTO) is mainly to strengthen our presence in Medan”.

“Firefly is a full-fledged IMT-GT airline. Since 2009, our intention was to provide citizens in Medan and Kuala Lumpur a smarter travel option for both the business and leisure traffic. This is still very much the aim today. Complementing its direct access is the convenient travel time into both cities that provides tremendous ease, reasonable rates, excellent customer service and above all the safest air travel option made available. Firefly will utilise the ATR 72-500 and 600 turbo prop aircraft which has a seating capacity of 72 on this route. We aim to bring both Malaysian and Indonesian points closer to each other whether it’s for the purpose of business or leisure”.

Ong further adds that the Hari Raya open house is an occasion Firefly looks forward to having to show appreciation to trade partners, related government agencies and media friends for their support in the fulfillment of sales target and making Firefly an airline of choice for customers in Medan.
“I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our Muslim friends Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. May you be blessed on this auspicious month, and may it be a new beginning of greater peace, prosperity, success and happiness” says Ong.

Firefly reiterates that their current campaign, Everyday Low Fares (ELF) which is currently running until further notice is aimed at providing Malaysians the chance to plan their holidays early and rewarding them with very affordable pricing. They will have the chance to
fly with minimal fuss but with great convenience from Subang and all this beginning with just 1 RM50 note. For further information on Firefly’s routes and schedules, please visit www.fireflyz.com.my
