MIGF FINE DINING AT BLU MED AT MID-VALLEY

BLU MED IS A HOT NEW RESTAURANT ON THE BOULEVARD, MIDVALLEY MEGAMALL AND CONVENIENTLY LOCATED LITERALLY AT THE CROSS ROADS BETWEEN MIDVALLEY SHOPPING MALL AND THE GARDENS!

It is on one corner so you cannot miss it and is a fine dining eatery. I expected the prices to cost around RM 80 per person which is so but Blu Med also offers RM 25 for a 3-course meal which is incredible value! The pizza are super marvellous especially Margherita.

Guest of honour was Tunku Dato Seri Tunku Shahabuddin the chairman of Vision Four Media Group and his Australian born wife Datin Seri Jeanette.

2 ambassadors also attended---Spanish ambassador Her Excellency Maria Bassols and Chilean ambassador HE Christian Rehren.

Dato Raymond Liew came with beautiful wife Kok Yul Shin. Dato Raymond Liew is the Managing Partner of McMillan Woods the world famous chartered accountants and will host a major regional event in October attended by Gina Rinehart the world's richest woman or second richest after Liliane Bettencourt who owns L'Oreal.

I also like Blu Med's chandeliers as they are so unique and one of a kind since they consist of bulbs enclosed inside bottles! 1 bulb per bottle and the lower end comes attached with wine glasses! A toast to creativity!

The food is superb as expected since the owner Tan Sri Fumihiko Konishi runs Sushi King, your favourite Japanese chain of sushi and knows his food. He lives in Penang in a magnificent Italianate palazzo since he also loves Italy and spends 1 month each other traversing that land. He spends 9 months in Malaysia and 2 months in his native Japan. What a life.

So you can expect superb cuisine at reasonable prices as his aim is to make good food and wines available to the middle market. You can also see your food being cooked inside the transparent kitchen and Blu Med is fast becoming the de rigeur place to see and be seen!

Salute, chin chin and applausi to the good life at  Blu Med!

That goes for Fujifilm too which is the Official Imaging Partner for MIGF Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2013.

On each table (there were only 2 for 20 guests) was a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera for guests to photograph themselves.

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 is an instant camera and guests adored getting their photos produced from the  camera within seconds. Each photo took 20 seconds to be fully developed in vivid colour and is the size of a credit card. 

This size is ideal to put inside your wallet or purse as a wonderful souvenir for a memorable dinner at Blu Med!

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 costs a mere RM 280 which is nothing but the image pack costs RM 27 for 10 shots so each photo costs RM 2.70. But how much is a memory worth?
