BRITISH MALAYSIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CELEBRATES 50 GLORIOUS YEARS IN MALAYSIA!

KEE@FSWMAG.COM
Cecilia Leong-Faulkner of Singapore who runs the popular and successful British Theatre Playhouse very kindly invited me to the 50th anniversary of British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce at Majestic hotel ballroom as Datuk Larry Gan sadly neglected to invite me to his head table as he is the president of BMCC!

This only proves the world is ending soon if the president of BMCC could not be bothered to personally phone me. And Dato Larry Gan is the first Chink and Malaysian to hold this august post! Previously all presidents of BMCC was a white Englishman (or Scots or Welsh or even Northern Irish as the case may be but to most of us, 'England' means UK!).

So congratulations to Dato Larry Gan for entering history! His wife Datin Caroline Gan is one of my favourite dressers as she is not the tai tai type in sequins and feathers (which I am very fond of, actually). As Datin Caroline Gan had the honour to sit next to Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, I thought she might wear baju kurung but she wore a spiffy leather jacket! I love it!

Dato Larry Gan wore an unusual long frock coat which made him look rather Edwardian and he certainly lived up to the them 'Eccentric Blacktie'.

Of course I was Best Dressed as I wore a tuxedo with black sequinny shirt and massive crystal chandelier pendant shaped as seahorse. And my shoes with painted skeletal toes was a hit with everyone muttering "Look what happened when he passed the X-ray machine as he is now radio active"!

Speaking of radiating charm and appeal, British Theatre Playhouse is staging the all time favourite 'Yes, Prime Minister' on 21 to 25 May 2014 at Temple of Fine Arts in KL. Tickets are RM 130 to RM 383.
