MIGF 2014---PART 2; MARINI'S ON 57 DOES NOT OFFER A MEAL BUT A WORLD CLASS, GASTRONOMIC EXPERIENCE! OF COURSE IF YOU ARE SPENDING RM 1,342 NETT PER PERSON, IT MUST BE WORLD CLASS AS YOU PAY A SIMILAR SUM IN THE WORLD'S FINEST RESTAURANTS IN LONDON, PARIS AND NEW YORK!

KEE@FSWMAG.COM
IT IS ONE THING FOR MARINI'S ON 57 TO POSITION ITSELF RIGHT AT THE TOP, BOTH FIGURATIVELY AND PHYSICALLY AS IT IS LOCATED ON THE 57TH FLOOR OF PETRONAS TOWER 3 WITH JETLINER VIEWS OF KUALA LUMPUR.

It is another to sustain its elitist and expensive reputation!

So I am always surprised (though maybe I should not be) that the restaurant is almost always full or at least 80% occupied! Discerning Malaysians come here to partake world class gourmet cuisine and soak in the view and ambiance.

The MIGF Festival Menu of 13 courses costs RM 1,342.10 per person with 9 glasses of superb wines to match each dish. This, I believe, is pricier than McD or KFC and is not to be sniffed at unless you are Bill Gates.

Those on a budget can settle for the 5 course menu with wine for a mere RM 1,092 while those at the bottom of the pecking order can settle for the MIGF Light Menu at RM 557++---a snip!

My dinner at Marini's on 57 on 27 October 2014 was my very first dinner as a brand new, 3-day old Dato! The Sultan of Pahang made me a Dato on 25 Oct 2014 at Istana Abu Bakar at 11.11 am!

Elizabeth Marini treated us to this magnificent dish of pasta with slices of white truffles to celebrate my Datoship!
All of Dato Steve Day's 22 guests enjoyed this extra dish of pasta with truffles because of Dato Kee Hua Chee!
Fresh, simple and utterly delicious!

All glasses of wine came with their names and vintage! Such a simple, brilliant idea but Marini's on 57 is theb only one who bothered to do this by going the extra mile!
