‘POETRY IN SPRING’ BY KEITH KEE COUTURE - CHINESE NEW YEAR 2015 COLLECTION

Keith Kee Couture (KKC) is back at the exciting Paradigm Mall‟s “In Style 2014” fashion week, and even has the great honour of kick starting this year‟s fashion extravaganza.

In a grand manner, KKC proudly debuts the exquisite „Poetry in Spring‟ - a Chinese New Year 2015 collection, in a spectacular showcase emceed by Mix FM deejay and radio announcer Amelia Henderson.

Drawing comfort and inspiration from the refreshing and joyous season of spring, the concept of the designs for „Poetry in Spring‟ are in accordance with a theme that places emphasis on the celebration of all things new in order to channel positive energies all around.

The entire range, which consists of about 60 pieces in total, includes practical casual wear, fun and flirty party dresses, as well as classy evening gowns. Just like garden faeries dancing airily with grace amongst the fluffy garden blooms, KKC‟s namesake and designer Keith Kee marries the softness evoked by chiffon with the breezy comfort offered by Shantung silk, which in turn provides the delicate cutting for a feminine bodice in an embracing fit.

Layering of various fabric types of premium standards, especially with tulle nets, are abundant in this collection but the key is still practicality, which makes each piece suitable to be worn even in Malaysia‟s tropical climate. Never straying away from the signature of every KKC piece, Kee‟s particular attention to detailing touches is slightly subdued this time around.

Embellishments are kept to a minimal with only handmade 3D pop-up flowers alongside floral motifs originating from the elegant flow of European lace and the sexy touch of French lace, which ultimately gives birth to a revered sense of etherealness.

As a mark of respect in light of the unfortunate tragedies to have befallen Kee‟s home country of Malaysia in the past year, the lush and vibrant colours of spring - which is also co-incidentally Kee‟s preferred choice in his earlier collections - have been toned down significantly to tender shades of pastel in tribute, and subsequently projects a beacon of hope.

Each creation from „Poetry in Spring‟ represents a blossoming breath of fresh air, welcoming the dawn of the new seasons and fresh beginnings. “I am humbly grateful for the success of my collection from last season - the „Moon Night‟ series, which was an experiment I took a huge risk with.

"This time around, I was truly inspired by the concept of „Poetry in Spring‟ and I really believed in its message. That is why my team and I gave it our all to bring this collection to life,” shared Kee, who has recently re-located his Klang Valley boutique to a prime location in Bangsar.

The „Poetry in Spring‟ showcase would not have been possible without generous sponsors Amber Chia Academy, Runway Productions, SOP Bar & Bistro, Bitbuger, Nose, 321 Proproject, and especially Paradigm Mall.
