Pulau Banding, located inside the 130 million year old Belum-Temengor Tropical Rainforest is poised to become the latest eco-tourism holiday destination. Unlike Tioman, Pangkor or Langkawi which can only be reached by boat, Banding 'island' is slightly inaccurate as a modern bridge connects it to the mainland so there is no need to take a ferry or pay for a boat. Just drive all the way into the lobby!

A project by EMKAY Group, it has a unique holistic approach to sustainable development comprising of eco-tourism, conservation and protecting the social and community development of Orang Asli and local community.

The Belum Rainforest Resort is a testament of EMKAY Group’s initiative to position Belum-Temengor Tropical Rainforest as a premier heritage destination of the world.

BELUM RAINFOREST RESORTS CATERS TO EVERY BUDGET
 LOBBY
HORNBILL RESTAURANT
KAMPING HOUSE BATH
 DELUXE MINIMALIST ROOM,
KEEP CALM AND ENJOY!

While the resort is not the cheapest in town, it is priced to accommodate almost every budget except poverty-stricken back-packers.

The Belum Rainforest Resort expanded its facilities with the completion of its Phase 2. Aiming to attract a wide spectrum of travellers, the country’s first SIRIM-recognised eco-resort has added to its existing 70 rooms another 36 Deluxe Suites, 6 traditional chalets, an exclusive Villa, a Base Camp and a swimming pool. With this expansion, the 4-star Resort is catering to travellers seeking varied accomodation during Visit Perak Year in 2015.

The Deluxe suites offer a contemporary,  minimalist yet luxurious feel, while travellers seeking absolute luxury can stay at the Villa with its own chef and butler or “kampung”-inspired  traditional chalets overlooking the serene Temengor Lake. The traditional chalets offer 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms, making them a great choice for families.

Adventure seekers and nature lovers seeking to immerse in nature can opt for the Belum Adventure Camp. Primarily designed for team building initiatives and group camping trips, the Base

Belum Adventure Camp can accomodate 40 people at a time with its dormitory-styled accomodation and facilities such as kitchen, a common area and bathrooms.

Owner and chairman of EMKAY Group which built Belum Rainforest Resort from an existing 3-star hotel, Tan Sri Datuk Haji Mustapha Kamal, said, There was a lot of thought in the planning and design to accommodate the trees and the environment. It is not enough to just take care of the bottom line, it is just as important to conserve and minimise the effect it has on our environment so future generations can enjoy.”

The launch was officiated last May by Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri DiRaja Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak. Also present were Perak Chief Minister Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir and Heads of Departments of the Perak state government.

It also served as a peek into the new private boutique villas and Belum Rainforest Villas to be launched in the near future. A total of 48 exclusive villas with a built-up area ranging from 4,000 sq ft to 5,000 sq ft, will be built using eco-friendly materials and techniques.

These bespoke villas will have its own breathtaking view of the Temengor Lake with a starting price of RM 12 million each. What is extraordinary about these villas is that a large portion of its cost will go towards the upkeep and ongoing research of the Pulau Banding Rainforest Research Centre. Purchasing a Belum Rainforest Villa will be more than just a property to reside in or a holiday retreat. It is the formation of a legacy for generations to come.

The Prime Minister toured Pulau Banding and was pleased with Pulau Banding Rainforest Research Centre committed to scientific research on the habitats of Belum-Temengor Tropical Rainforest. He was impressed with Pulau Banding Charter to protect and nurture the ecosystem.
