Moonchocolate: A Delicious Interpretation of Mid-Autumn Festival

Mid-Autumn festival has long been one of the favourite festivities among Chinese people because of what it signifies: the celebration of family unity, love and friendship, thanksgiving for a good life, and well wishes for the loved ones. 

It is a special occasion for families and friends to gather together to share delicacies and create lovely memories under the enchanting beauty of the silvery full moon.
 
In honour of this festival, which will fall on the 27 September this year, legendary French chocolatier La Maison du Chocolat is launching the exclusive Moonchocolate collection in Hong Kong to provide a delicious, stylish alternative to the traditional mooncakes. 

Featuring the elegant Yùtù (Jade Rabbit) and the mythical Cinnamon Tree, the Parisian chocolatier tells the Moon Festival story in a French chocolaty way. The bite-size chocolate pieces, beautiful and subtle in both taste and aesthetics, will surely add a sophisticated twist to the traditional festival as they melt in your mouth and linger on your taste buds.

“The distinctive taste and silky texture of our signature ganache are like the fond memories with your beloved ones. They are all unique, pleasurable, and linger long after the encounter has finished.”


The Moonchocolate Collection features three exclusive flavours:


Sweet Moon, inspired by the form and harmonious beauty of a full moon, is filled with silky milk ganache with light accents of caramel.



Sparkling Moon, hinting of the mysterious “other side of the moon”, is full of imagination of surprises: the rich, dark ganache of each of the moons is punctuated with the swirling notes of rose champagne.

The Yùtù Moonlight bears the image of the jade rabbit. The delicate texture and intense flavour of the dark chocolate bouchée, contrasted with the sweetness of the slivers of chestnuts, offer a new interpretation of the bitter-sweet legend where the mythological creature sacrificed itself in an act of selfless kindness. 


These exquisite chocolate creations come in the Moonchocolate Gift Box which, using an elegant palate of gold, champagne and blue, features a stylish rendition of the festival’s traditional elements including the jade rabbit, the cinnamon tree, and a full moon. 

The Gift Box also bears La Maison du Chocolat’s signature ribbon as a seal of perfect quality.
