THIS IS DUE TO THE BLESSINGS OF BUDDHA AND PERSONAL INTERCESSION OF JESUS CHRIST! AND GANESHA WHO REMOVED ALL OBSTACLES FOR DATO KEE HUA CHEE TO WIN THIS AWARD WHICH I BELIEVE COMES WITH A 2-DOOR MERCEDES-BENZ SPORTS CAR

FIRST I MUST APOLOGISE TO DATO NANCY YEOH AND MERCEDES-BENZ. REASON? FOR CURSING THEM!

When emcee Isabelle announced the 'Most Creative Influencer Award of 2017' I was consumed and roiling with bitterness, jealousy, frustration, anger, humiliation and suicidal thoughts (which lasted for a nano second but still I did think of it) as I thought I deserved it.

I was not told I would be receiving anything and after 10 long, agonising years of covering Mercedes-Benz Stylo Asia Fashion Festival, I sorta got used to not getting anything. It's like a wife or gf being sexually abused for a decade and you tend to get used to it. I dunno why I should include sex but it sounds more dramatic like the Seven Deadly Sins of which we are heir to.

While waiting for this award, my 11-yr old son Dedione Kee died on 4 may 2011 and I wept until Dato Sri Princess Dr Becky Leogardo (then not yet Dato Sri) got fed-up and took me to Pets Wonderland in MidValley and paid RM 2,300 for a new 2 month old replacement puppy of same color, breed, sex, name and size.

By the grace of God, on 24 October 2014 the Sultan of Pahang made me a Dato.

On 1 August 2016 my father ascended the dragon and went to heaven.

So it took 2 deaths and 1 Datoship for me to receive this award OK! My life is so dramatic.

So there I was, sitting fretfully and glaring balefully at everyone and feeling sorry for myself against a cruel world. And cursing Dato Nancy Yeoh so her assets would shrink from melons to grapes and resemble KLIA.

I wanted to whimper like my poodle but tried to be brave and strong. At my age and in my condition, I thought it was long overdue!

After all, Isabelle was going on and on about how this winner was so accomplished, talented, diligent, intrepid, hard working, universally acclaimed and of course creative, not only in writing but also attitude and appearance---she could be describing me! Little did I know she was!

I was also terrified as it seemed like I had a rival after all and I always thought no one came close to my magnificence, radiance and brilliance!

I contemplating skulking to the loo to avoid the utter humiliation of being outgunned and outclassed by another contender but luckily Buddha and Jesus forestalled me.

I felt like throwing a chair at the winner but there were only cushions and throwing my Canon Powershot camera would be a waste so I switched off my Canon Powershot as no way I was going to take photos of this upstart who would upstage me.

So imagine my undiluted, unfettered and unalloyed joy when my illustrious name was called! "The winner is Dato Kee Hua Chee"!

It was a miracle I did not have a heart attack!

If I did, I would die happy and join my father in heaven.

But the gods and goddesses want me stay on earth to look after my sainted mother so I gave my Canon camera  to Samantha Goh to take photos and jumped on stage! You never know, they might change their mind.

I was told the other awards like Industry Award, Best Designer Showcase, Lifetime Achievement and Designer of the Year awards are supposed to be even more important but I never heard such nonsense, have you? After all, my award was the first to be given so logic dictates mine was MOST IMPORTANT!

In fact I don't even want to mention the other awards and winners but have to under duress.

TA DA! AFTER 10 YEARS OF WAITING IMPATIENTLY, DATO KEE HUA CHEE FINALLY WAS AWARDED THE MOST IMPORTANT, COVETED AND PRESTIGIOUS 'MOST CREATIVE INFLUENCER AWARD OF 2017'! PRESENTED BY JEREMY KHAW THE COMMERCIAL MANAGER OF BEAM SUNTORY
