“Furthermore, watercolour can be classified as a magical art, where by the flow of that art seems as if it brings to life,” he said.

Approximately, more than 30 paintings comprises of more than 20 artists from Gangsta Watakala share what Indahnya Negaraku means to them.

Their artworks portray a truly unique Malaysian ambience such as traditional hometown (kampong) structure, hustle and bustle in the city, iconic skyscrapers, culture and heritage.

"Ladies and gentleman

It is with great pleasure to join you all today at the opening ceremony of Indahnya Negaraku Exhibition at the Creative Space, Artiseri Gallery.

I am here today to speak to all of you not just as a CEO of Centurise Group, involved in the property development, media content and timber industry.

I am speaking today as an art lover and collector, and also as part of ArteSpree, a CSR project under Centurise Group, which had just recently signed an MoU with our host today, National Art Gallery of Malaysia, just 2 weeks ago.

I am honored to be able to partner with the reputable brand name of NAG, and I wish to thank the NAG and its Leadership, for its foresighted view to believe in the opportunity of a Government-Corporate Sector partnership to achieve success for the common social interest goals in the development of Arts Industry and its ecosystem in Malaysia.

For decades, the artists’s community here has delivered a wide range of programmes, both traditional and contemporary, locally-produced and from abroad, to appreciative audiences.

As KL stamps its name as an international metropolis of creativity, I am sure that like me, art lovers here gladly welcome this exhibition that shown our unity and diversity of art and culture especially to tourist whose stays at Seri Pacific Hotel.

Indeed every visit to our galleries, whether governnment – supported or independent, provides an opportunity to widen one’s horizons.  Sound and image become windows to another world, conveying meaning and contributing to public conversation in ways only art can.

I hope Malaysia’s art and culture landscape will continue to to flourish well into the future and sparks patriotism through artwork by the artists’.

The collaboration between National Art Gallery and ArteSpree that is comimg soon, in promoting artworks on ArteSpree art platform before, during and after the exhibition is also part of the monetizing culture which is one of the initiatives taken by National Art Gallery and ArteSpree, as we need to look at art as an Asset Rich component under the vision of the government of Malaysia to assist the art industry.

While the collaboration with Seri Pacific Kuala Lumpur is to promote and show to tourist and art enthusiasts the beauty of our nation through artwork as one of Confucious’s quotes says “everything has a beauty but not everyone sees it”.  Therefore it depends on artists’s creativity to share and spread the beauty of our nation with everyone.

ArteSpree, is an art platform from Malaysia, focuses on bringing together the art community.   While its operations will focus mainly in its homeland Malaysia, ArteSpree welcomes the participation of art lovers, artists, galleries and collectors from around the world.

Its mantra is to democratize art through building awareness and access to greater audiences, starting from Malaysia and then to the world.  Art in all forms have a story to tell and ArteSpree hopes to tell it and share it with the world.
.
If you are an artist, gallery, collector, an art lover/patron or wish to be a corporate or individual sponsor, you can visit artespree.com when it launches at the end of third quarter of 2017 ;  to be part of the social cause to promote the arts and the art industry.

Lastly, in the spirit of independence, I would like to wish everyone “Selamat Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan ke-60 tahun Malaysia”.

With this, I declare this exhibition open.  Thank you very much.
