Well, we can still make do with my all time favourite---Happy Diamonds watches. At first I thought they were called Dancing Diamonds which was more accurate since the gems bounce and scatter merrily over the bezel! If Chopard changes 'Happy Diamonds' to 'Dancing Diamond', you know they have been listening to me.
These Happy Diamonds have been Chopard's signature watch for decades and their appeal remain constant. Even I manage to have 6 such watches, all in solid gold straps as I only wear leather straps when indulging in sexual foreplay which need not be elaborated here. Just as well I bought the gold straps when gold was unloved at US$ 200 per ounce. Now it is US$ 1,400! Of course at that time everyone sneered at me as gold was considered passe and bourgeois, fit for newly rich with bad taste and unfortunate penchant for shiny stuff! And so I scooped them up by the barrelfuls!
Some brands use one or several regional ambassadors but Chopard goes for ALL. All the big stars who come to all the big bashes like the recent 68th Golden Globe Awards, 83rd Academy Awards and the Oscar parties hosted by Elton John and Vanity Fair magazine.
Chopard is also involved in the coming Cannes Film Festival, held in the lovely city of Cannes in southern France but that is in May.
