MICHAEL MANTZ CELEBRATED HIS 58th BIRTHDAY AT THE CHINESE RESTAURANT IN MANDARIN ORIENTAL HOTEL IN KUALA LUMPUR. CO-HOSTED BY WIFEY PRINCESS DR BECKY LEOGARDO, IT WAS HELD ON THE SAME DAY AS HARI RAYA PUASA.

INDEED, THIS COULD WELL BE THE FIRST AND LAST TIME MICHAEL MANTZ HAD THE CHANCE TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY ON THE SAME DAY AS HARI RAYA. HIS BIRTH DATE DOES NOT CHANGE AT 30th AUGUST BUT OF COURSE THE DAY OF HARI RAYA CHANGES FROM YEAR TO YEAR.

The menu, carefully chosen by Princess Dr Becky Leogardo, was a veritable feast, starting with Peking Duck, Shark's Fin Soup, Prawns, Smoked Chicken, Mushroom & Kailan, Steamed Fish, Noodles with Duck, Fried Rice and Lychee Pudding.

Even though it was Michael's birthday and we all gave him great presents, Princess Becky as usual came loaded with presents for her guests! Everyone got at least 2 gifts and I should have brought a date so we could get 4 presents! I got a Davidoff men's set worth RM 300 and a fruit basket worth RM 150 and I drank at least a bottle of Moet & Chandon worth RM 300 and the meal was around RM 200 so I think I made a profit out of the evening although my box of expensive chocolates was not to be sniffed at.

Princess De Becky Leogardo wore the diamond earrings and ring from Elegance Club, Bangsar Shopping Centre bought by hubby Michael Mantz for the first time. He bought it 2 weeks ago but Princess Becky did not wear them till tonight as she was waiting for a special occasion. I think the diamond bling was worth RM 100,000. I sat next to Tracy Ong who just happens to own Elegance Club but of course she kept mum and would not say how much Michael paid and reminded me it was rude to ask such questions but since I already did, it was a bit too late ain't it? I always like to know the prices as I am such a busybody and naturally curious about things that don't concern me.

There were 2 tables and a small one for their children----Daniel Mantz, 4 , and the twins Gloria and Raphael Mantz who had their hair shaven off although they are now slowly growing back. Michael Mantz headed one table and Princess Becky another. I sat with her as Tracy Ong brought her 2 sons Derrick, 17, and Justin, 20 and they needed someone young of their generation to keep them company.

After was the cake cutting ceremony the party slowed and we left before 11pm. Most of us joined the birthday boy for coffee and drinks at the newly opened Lobby Lounge. This time, Jeremy Figgins insisted on paying despite Princess Becky's entreaties. I noticed he was the only one who offered to pay. I conveniently pretended to be deaf, dumb and blind when the bill came. Anyway I am the poorest financially compared to everyone else although spiritually, mentally, intellectually, physically and religiously, I am the richest.
