MY DARLING GODSON DANIEL MANTZ CELEBRATED HIS 5TH YEAR OF EXISTENCE TODAY 11 AUGUST 2012 THOUGH HIS ACTUAL BIRTHDAY IS 8 AUGUST AND HE WAS BORN ON 8/8/07 THOUGH WE WANTED HIM TO BE BORN ON 8/8/08.

Datin Sharmini Chor's daughter Georgina was born on the most auspicious date of 8/8/88 at 8pm and how she managed to do that was quite miraculous. "The entire hospital celebrated and there was much rejoicing," recalls Datin Sharmini who is the glamorous mother of Gabriella Robinson the reigning Miss Tourism International and the first Malaysian to win the crown after 15 years since it was founded by Datuk Danny Ooi of D'Touch who owns the franchise.
Miss Tourism International 2012 was in Singapore but her mother and sisters came. Around 120 guests came over 3 hours as early birds arrived at 5pm while Musllims came around 7pm to break fast at 7.30pm.
The theme this year was 'Animal Print' and everyone (almost!) duly followed the request and came decked in lion, leopard, cheetah, tiger, ocelot and zebra prints and images.
I wore a black T with sequined lion head plus jeans with matching lion's head, tiger's necklace, crocodile bangles and rings so naturally I won Best Dressed as usual.
There were 2 other winners though naturally there were nowhere near me in the glam dept as I had youth, looks, body and wealth on my side.
There were 3 winners each for Best Dressed Ladies, Best Dressed Boys and Best Dressed Girls. Plus prizes for Best Dancers.
The prize for Worst Dressed Family went to Dato Flora Ong and her husband Luo Qi, son Yong Wen and daughter Serena---all of them failed to wear animal print and came in garments without an animal or even faint hint of wild life on them!
Even newly ennobled Datuk Tracy Ong of Elegance Club at Bangsar Shopping Centre wore a fabulous animal print blouse and she is relatively staid by my standard!
The star animals were Dedione Kee and Portia Wong though Dedione was the most admired and Portia 1st runner-up. My adopted French son Dedione Kee was so cute everyone came to pat and hug and cuddle him since he is so furry and his apricot colour so irresistible. Then again, poodles are like that and Portia is a Schnauzer.
In Nancie Foo's car, Portia initially barked at Dedione but later they became friends as Dedione kept sniffing Portia's chibai which amused everyone no end.
Princess Dr Becky Leogardo who is the glamorous mother of Daniel Mantz hired a small pony so children could enjoy rides around the lawn. It was such a success everyone queued and the pony was kept busy nonstop.
I wanted a ride too but the pony looked a wee bit too small so I abandoned the idea. When she booked, she asked for a pure white pony which we saw at Top Hat Restaurant but Princess Becky got a white and brown one.
Oh well, Daniel Mantz is Eurasian and Michael Mantz is white while Princes Becky Leogardo is brown so to speak so the pony was the animal version of an Eurasian!
There were 2 tables inside the house though the rest were under the 7 white tents. Inside was airconditioned but I told everyone only the aged and decrepit could sit inside so almost all sat in the garden and driveway. Of course I wanted to sit inside but Dedione was forbidden so I employed the sour grape tactic.
I must say Dedione Kee and Portia Wong were very well behaved and did not bark. Neither did they wee and pee and poo! That was quite surprising as I fed my son with KFC. But Nancie Foo-lish did not allow me to feed Portia any meat as she insists Portia was a vegetarian! I think I should report her to the police for animal cruelty! Imagine depriving a dog of meat! Might as well deprive her of sausages of the human kind. And is Nancie Foo a vegetarian?
God forbid---look at the way she was gorging on meat and then preventing poor Portia from any!
An entire table was laden with gifts for Daniel Mantz and Princess Becky had to carry her new RM 125,000 Hermes Birkin crocodile bag as that was used to carry angpows.
My present was the most valuable---a brown, yellow and green jade pendant with 2 fishes to symbolise Daniel's little brother Raphael and sister Gloria and a square within a circle to denote 'As above, so below' as this is the sign of heaven on earth! Very auspicious and in future when Daniel needs millions, he can auction my pendant at Sotheby's or Christie's or e-Bay.
