Malaysia's greatest badminton player and the World's  #2 Best Badminton Player is getting married on 9 and  10 October 2012 so here is wishing him  "CONGRATULATIONS" and may he and wifey  produce a new generation of badminton champs! After  all, the new Datin Lee was also a national badminton  champion and if they don't produce shuttlecock smashing  babies, then who will? Not me as Buddha and Jesus have I decreed I should not marry in this kalpa. For his wedding suit, of course it is a given Dato Lee Chong Wei  had to get the best tuxedo in the universe and the tailor happens  to be Lord's Tailor so off he went to get his slim and taut body  measured by Robert Loh and his son Kenny Loh. He ordered 4  suits for his wedding so if you wish to look as spiffy as Dato Lee  Chong Wei, the name of the game is Lord's Tailor at Bangsar  Bangsar Shopping Centre and Ampwalk Mall on Jalan Ampang. On 10th November, our nation’s pride and international shuttler Dato’ Lee Chong Wei will finally tie the knot with his off-and-on girlfriend of 11 years, Wong Mew Choo. Wong Mew Choo was also a former national badminton player – Malaysia’s top woman singles shuttler, to be precise. No prizes for guessing why she retired! The duo met during training and has tried to keep their relationship/love life as private as possible for more than a decade. As a matter of fact, according to our Dato’: I’ve known Mew Choo since my junior days and we’ve been in and out of relationship for the last 11 years. Of course, there have been misunderstandings but she has always stood by me. She knew me and liked me even when I was a nobody … and she has not changed. She has waited for me for a long time and I decided that it was time to marry her. She is one patient woman and I like that quality in her. Aww. Well, you know what they say, right? Patience is a virtue. It was also said that the couple spent three whole hours in a pre-wedding photo shoot at the iconic Sepang Gold Coast Palm Tree Resort – the very same place where the private beach wedding is going to be held. Following which, Dato’ Lee Chong Wei and Datin Wong Mew Choo’s wedding receptions will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 9th and 10th November (Friday and Saturday). Dato’s brother, Lee Chong Hoon said that Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Ministers and corporate leaders, both here and abroad have been invited for the 9th November reception while the 10th November reception is for family members and friends. Word on the street is that both Lin Dan and Taufik Hidayat are also on the invite list. We think that both Lin Dan and Taufik are probably under the “VIP Sportsmen” list? No? But you know what it all sounds like to us anyway! Yup. One great, big, “smashing” party.
