OMIGOD, IT IS NOW 12.12.12 AND THE WORLD HAS NOT ENDED AND WE ARE STILL ALIVE! AT LEAST I AM STILL ALIVE THOUGH IT CAN WELL BE THAT HALF THE POPULATION HAS ALREADY DIED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF PLANET EARTH AND WE IN MALAYSIA WILL BE DEAD IN A FEW HOURS' TIME AND THIS IS MY LAST POST IN MY BRILLIANT BLOG!
Well, at least I am still alive to write this as the planet speeds towards destruction. I love the drama of it all, don't you? Doom, destruction and death!
So the only other option is 21.12.12 in 9 days' time. If we make it, I am opening my vintage Dom Perignon champagne given to me by Princess Dr Becky Leogardo and celebrate 22.12.12 with Dedione Kee, my adopted French son.
12.12.12 has no personal meaning to me as I was born on 7 January 1977 and 7.1.77 has long past and anyway it is not as graceful and elegant as 7.7.77.
But beauty queen Carrie Lee (Miss Chinese Cosmos 2004 international winner) was born on 12.12.85 and her birthday is today 12.12.12 so here is wishing her HAPPY 27th BIRTHDAY!
Carrie Lee married Stephen Chu on 11.11.11 and today 12.12.12 marks exactly 1 year, 1 month and 1 day they have been married! Exquisite or what?
Carrie Lee's baby daughter Chanelle Chu was born on 12.4.12 this year
Alas, handsome hubby Stephen Chu's was born on 8.5.81 which means nothing and is just a date so he is out of the equation!
12.12.12 is particularly significant this year as
it is the last time such a sequence of numbers is possible as next year
(provided the world does not end this month on 21.12.12!) does not have a
13.13.13!
Indeed the next time we can write 12.12.12 on
cheques and diaries will be in another hundred years in 2112! Considering all
adults over 20 may not be around as they would be at least 120 years old, this is
the last time we can write this figure of 12.12.12.
In 99 years in 2111, we will have 11.11.11 again but
living to see 10.10.10 again will be impossible as that will occur in another
998 years in 3010! The fascinating number of 01.01.01 last occurred in 2001 but
the next round will be in 3001 in 989 years.
On 12.12.12 itself, only three possibilities exist.
Something bad will happen. Something good will happen. Nothing out of the
ordinary will happen.
Those born on 12 December will be busy celebrating
their birthday as well they should. One such celebrant is Carrie Lee, Miss Chinese
Cosmos International 2004 who beat 50 global contestants in Hong Kong to win the
international title.
“I was born on 12.12 at 12 noon in 1985 and married
last year on 11.11.11,” smiles Carrie Lee who has discovered her life is linked
to the number 12 on many fronts. “My daughter Chantelle Chu was born on
12.4.12. On my birthday 12.12.12 my husband and I will also be celebrating our
marriage which will be exactly 1 year 1 month and 1 day old!
“I met my husband Stephen Chu from Hong Kong on
12.12 in 2008 at Shangri-La hotel in Kuala Lumpur when some friends brought him
and introduced us over dinner at Lafite. It was love at first sight so we
consider 12.12 in 2008 as our first date when we fell in love.”
However, that fateful 12.12 date cost Carrie Lee
some RM 60,000! “After dinner we went to Phuture in Zouk Club where I lost my
Chanel handbag containing 3 phones, 2 cameras, jewellery and cash totalling
nearly RM 60,000! We girls put all our bags together on one table but mine was
on top so I guess that was the first to go.
“I was very upset as the theft happened on my
birthday but took comfort in the Chinese philosophy that one has ‘to lose small
money to make a fortune’. In a way, it came true as I lost my possessions but
found a husband! I literally met my future husband at Phuture! However, he
never offered to refund or compensate me for my loss!”
In 2010 Stephen Liu proposed to Carrie Lee on 14
February, Valentine’s Day which she declined as she felt she was not ready to
settle down. Then on 12.12 the same year, he tried his luck again and she
accepted his marriage proposal!
Carrie Lee delivered daughter Chantelle on 12.4.12
in Suite 12 at KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital. “The last link to 12 is my
handphone which starts with 012!” she laughs. “My husband asked what I wanted
for my 27th birthday on 12.12.12 and I said a 12-carat diamond. He
almost fainted so that was the end of my dream. However he is taking me to
Macau to celebrate a romantic dinner for 12 at Joel Robuchon restaurant.”
Chanelle Chu was born on 12.4.12 and her mum on 12.12.85 so there is a double pair of 12 in their life
