THE AFTER-PARTY OF MISS TOURISM INTERNATIONAL WAS HELD ON THE 12TH FLOOR OF SUNWAY RESORT, HOTEL & SPA STRICTLY FOR INVITED GUESTS ONLY.
Only I was not given the special pass since my face was my passport or so said the organiser.
Even the brother of the winner Miss Philippines was not allowed in! And he flew in all the way from Manila! And his sister won the Miss Tourism International title! That's exclusivity for you!
The VVIP guest of honour YAM Tengku Sulaiman Shah, brother of the Sultan of Selangor, was taken to the wrong room! But the genial and charming prince saw the funny side of it and regaled me with his story. He said, "I gate crashed the wrong party! I didn't know and was standing drinking tea and looking around for you as I know for sure you would be around. But I couldn't find you and didn't see any familiar faces or any beauty queens. So my PA asked and discovered this was not the Miss Tourism after-party!"
A feast was laid before us and soon all 56 beauties returned from Dataran Merdeka in high spirits. Since the pageant was over, the girls could finally throw caution to the wind and gorge freely! No more dieting and weight watching! No more counting calories and worrying if a slightest bulge might ruin the chance of a lifetime!
So the 56 beauty queens from 56 nations tucked in heartily and it was such an edifying sight to see healthy ladies enjoying their food with such relish and enjoyment!
Even I abandoned my starvation diet since the judging was over and I did not need to look as slim as the contestants.
So it was the best and jolliest party worthy of ending the year!
Congratulations again for a job well done, Datuk Danny Ooi, Irene Liong and all the D'Touch team!
