A SUMPTUOUS LUNCH AT ONLY RM 49 AT THE WORLD FAMOUS SWATCH ART PEACE HOTEL DIRECTLY THE EQUALLY WORLD FAMOUS FAIRMONT PEACE HOTEL IS A BARGAIN NOT TO BE MISSED IN SHANGHAI!
More so when Shook! is Malaysian owned and the first foreign offshoot outside Shook! at Starhill Gallery!
The All New Mimosa Brunch Debuts in March on Shanghai ’s Historical Bund
Located atop the
Swatch Art Peace Hotel at Bund 19, Shook! Restaurant and Rooftop Terrace is
jumping into spring with its brand new Mimosa Brunch launching every Saturday
and Sunday from 11:30am – 3pm from March 2nd onwards. Champagne and
orange juice Mimosas are the order of the day to ease guests through the weekend
with this classic drink and other selected cocktails including Bloody Marys and
classic Bellinis available at 2 for 1 prices.
The bustling new brunch menu at RMB 98 for two courses
offers diners the option of choosing from the menu of classic brunch and lunch
items and an option of adding on a dessert selection for only RMB 38 more.
Chef Matthew Ona has created a brunch menu that has
something for everyone. Appetizers begin lightly with a Spicy Lemongrass
Broth with poached shrimp and hints of cilantro; a Heirloom Cherry
Tomato Salad with white soy sesame vinaigrette; and the classic Salmon
Tartar featuring crushed fresh avocado and a Ginger Miso Rose sauce.
Next up, are a selection of classic brunch items, think Tasting of
Eggs, a platter of eggs done every way: Poached and wrapped in prosciutto
with a creamy Hollandaise sauce; Soft-boiled with salmon caviar; Classic sunny
side up quail eggs with a healthy portion of smoked salmon or the Brioche French Toast made with vanilla bean
& brown sugar served with summer fruit and specially imported American
maple syrup.
The star of the Shook! brunch show is Chef Matthew’s
Midwest-American recipe for Wild Berry Pancakes. It starts with a
generous portion of homemade fluffy pancakes with not-so-subtle hints of
cinnamon and real vanilla, topped off with a tart Mixed Berry Compote balanced
with an equally sweet Chantilly Cream.
For guests looking to get their afternoon fill, for an
additional RMB 88 the juicy Slow Braised Australian Beef in a Cabernet
glaze served with mashed potatoes and a healthy spinach side are set to become
instant favorites.
These days it’s not a proper brunch without a wake up
mimosa or cocktail and Shook! has the perfect concoctions to accompany brunch.
With just the right blend of tomato and spice the savory Shook! Bloody Mary
offers a weekend revitalize while the classic Bellini sparkles in a tall
chilled flute of peachy goodness.

About
Shook! Restaurant & Rooftop Terrace
Opened in 2011, Shook! Restaurant and Rooftop Terrace is the second
Shook! outlet by Malaysian YTL Hotels, after Shook! at YTL’s Starhill Gallery
in Kuala Lumpur .
It occupies the fifth and sixth floors of Swatch Art Peace Hotel, a
Renaissance-style 1906 heritage landmark on the Bund.
Helmed by Executive Chef Matthew Ona, Shook! Restaurant is an open
culinary theater that takes contemporary Western dishes and adds a twist of Japan , China
and South East Asia . Signature dishes include
Dancing White Prawns (stir-fried prawns with hot mayonnaise sprinkled with
honey-glazed walnuts) and Classic Salmon Tartar served with crushed cilantro
avocados and an oven roasted tomato ginger miso
rose sauce.
Along with the mod-Chinoisserie main dining area, there is also the chic
Time Bar and The Gallery, a multimedia banquet hall ideal for private
receptions for up to 250 people. On the sixth floor, Shook! Rooftop Terrace
offers alfresco lounging and stunning views of the Huangpu River
and Pudong. The hotel’s two defining domed towers, the Corner Tower
and Blancpain Room, are ideal for intimate candlelight dinners and private
events. Also on the sixth floor, the Chiang-Soong Room is one of the city’s
most historic exclusive meeting rooms. The room, now restored to its original
elegance, is the very same venue where the First International Opium Conference
was held in 1909. It is also where Chiang Kai-Shek and Soong Mei Ling
celebrated their engagement in 1927.
