Avon, the company for women, a leading global beauty company, was thrilled to crowned Khairiatul Akibah Shiari from Johor as the Champion for the Final of Avon Makeup Artist Search 2013 at The Royale Bintang The Curve Hotel.

The competition aims to find the most talented makeup artist nationwide which started early September where the preliminary rounds were held at all Avon Beauty Boutiques and continued with semifinals held at Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Penang,  Terengganu, Sabah & Sarawak.

At the Final, top 30 aspiring makeup artists outdid one another by using Avon latest makeup products to show off their skills based on “Pesona Batik” as the theme for the final. In line with Avon’s latest campaign “You Make It Beautiful”, the new Avon makeup range was the culmination of a diligent collaboration between Avon Inc. New York and Hollywood celebrity make-up artist, Lauren Anderson.

The final competition was hosted by Zamil Idris, a TV personality who also serenaded the finalists and guests with a few popular songs such as The Way You Are and Sedetik Lebih.

The panel judges comprises of Mandy Cupper, Avon’s Head of Commercial Marketing, Zulfazli Suhadi, Celebrity Makeup Artist, Nasha Aziz, a renowed model and Anwar Razali, Editor for Stailista Magazine on the judging panel.

 “There has been some fierce competition in the lead up to the Finals, with over 2000 entrants nationwide. That impressive number was narrowed down to the best 165, and these semi-finalists went on to battle each other at their respective divisions for the top 30 spot. Today, the finalists were keenly fought in the final and all of our winners should be immensely proud of what they have achieved. We are truly WOWed by their creative use of our Avon makeup,” said Mandy Cupper, Head of Commercial Marketing.

Khairiatul Akibah Shiari has showned an impressive work on her model with her creativity, skillful techniques and confident which suited the theme very well. As the Champion of Avon Makeup Artist Search 2013, Khairiatul Akibah Shiari walked away with a makeup class with Zulfazli Suhadi worth RM5,000, Avon products worth RM1,000, RM500 cash,  an award certification and a trophy.  

As for the rest of the winners, there were 10 consolation prizes worth RM200 and seond and thrid place prizes worth more than RM6,000 were given out. All 10 consolations and Top 3 winners will be featured in Stailista Magazine.
