Though Malaysia is a well-off nation on our way to First World status, there are still poor families who can barely provide 3 meals and make do with 2 meals. Abject poverty has been eradicated since the Malaysian Government has worked tirelessly to improve the livelihoods of the marginalised and those eking out a living from the land.

Kudos must be given to Dr Peggy Wong, like me, deserves a Datukship for all the hard work she has done to help poor children!

She was vice-chairman of Rumah Hope or House of Hope and ran it for 7 years and 7 years ago she founded Living Hope.

Living Hope aspires to be the 'voice' of the unheard cries of the poor and marginalised children of Malaysia.

I still recall attending the event at Hilton KL! It was the 1 Egg for 1 Child Feeding Programme launch and Dr Peggy Wong thought she could help up to 3,000 children. An egg is very nutritious and provides the basic needs for at least a day. 'One Egg for 1 Child' is a catchy name and means an egg is included besides rice, meat and vegetable during a meal.

Today, Living Hope has touched the lives of 39,350 children! Congratulations and well done!

"Living Hope also educates children as education is the key to escape poverty. We bring volunteers to visit the kids in rural areas which open their eyes. We also set up Toy and Book Libraries in rural Malaysia. These deprived children are aged 3 to 12 and we also help their families," says the indefatigable Dr Peggy Wong.

"We will celebrate the 7th anniversary of Living Hope on 8 June 2014 and for the first time will have a fund raising gala dinner called 'Evening of Hope',"

I will be blogging on this until all you rich guys and gals reading my fabulously fantastic blog come up with RM 250,000 to RM 300,000 for Living  Hope.

The current pressing aim is to buy a van so the volunteers can bring even more goods and food to the rural areas where roads are bad and using your Ferrari to go there is a VERY bad idea. "Your car may not be the same again after the trip!" grins Dr Peggy Wong.

Tickets are affordable from RM 2,500 for a table, RM 3,500, RM 5,000 and RM 10,000. Single tickets are also on sale as times are bad and not all may want to buy a table.

Living Hope is a registered NGO and there is no hanky panky!

Those who can help must donate as many can afford RM 250 per ticket. This will ensure your entry into heaven by Jesus Christ or Nirvana by Buddha. Helping poor kids brings good karma as you might be born like them in your next life! Then how?

In fact, you can even donate RM 50 or RM 100 as a gesture of kindness if you are unable to attend on 8 June 2014.

Remember, Nature abhors a vacuum---once you give away some money, God will provide you even more money to fill the gap!

Of course you will not just sit, eat and look at each other at the Evening of Hope gala.
