25TH YEARS OF OPTICAL RETAIL GLORY
Focus
Point, Malaysia’s largest optical chain of professional eye care centres, celebrated its 25th year in the retail industry at a
glittering anniversary dinner held at The Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
This Red
Carpet dinner was graced by YB Dato’ Sri Hasan bin Malek, Minister of
Domestic Trade, Co-operative and Consumerism who joined 950 guests and staff to
celebrate and commemorate Focus Point’s successful corporate milestone.
Guests to the event included Focus Point’s business partners from overseas who flew in from Germany,
France, Italy, Hong Kong and Singapore as well as bankers, business associates, franchisees and Focus Point employees who were treated to an elegant soiree.
The opening gambit presented by Poi Dance Folly by Focus Point Branding Video started off the dinner, followed by an opening speech by the President / CEO of the Focus Point
and a congratulatory speech by YB Dato’ Sri Hasan bin Malek.

products. Throughout the journey of 25
years, with our continuous mission on vision on innovation, technology and professional services, we are able to offer our customers a
comprehensive range of eye wear, quality products and value,” said
Dato’ Liaw Choon Liang.
In conjunction with its
25th Anniversary celebrations with the slogan of “25 years of Seeing Things Differently”,
Focus Point also embarked on a CSR programme to give back to
society.
Focus Point contributed 3 wheelchairs worth RM6,630.00 to
Persatuan Kesejahteraan Rakyat 1 Malaysia and 300 pairs of frames and lens amounting
RM30,000 each to Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Pantai Hills, SJK (C) Tun Tan Cheng
Lock and Persatuan Pengurusan Rumah Jagaan Titian Kaseh to help underprivileged children.
Bearing witness to the cheque presentation ceremony, YB Dato’ Sri Hasan bin
Malek highly commended Focus Point’s effort to build a better future for the
country.

For the past 25 years, Focus
Point has many committed and loyal staff who have been with the company since its inception 1989. A Long
Service Ceremony presentation was also held to thank all loyal staff for
their contribution to the success of Focus Point as well as
Employee Of The Year Awards. This was followed by Outlets and Franchise Awards presentation.
Entertainmant for the
evening included the opening Poi Dance, 3-piece Jazz Band and closing
performance by Smoke Chamber. Other highlights were Best Dressed award and Grand Lucky Draw.
The gala ended with the toasting ceremony led by Focus Point's President /CEO Dato’ Liaw Choong Liang, Datin
Joyce Goh, Focus Point Chairman Dato’ Hamzah Mohd Salleh, Focus Point
Directors Datuk Idris Hashim and Jimmy Leow and Heads of Department of
Focus Point.
