A Charity Fundraising Event For Children Affected By the Earthquake in Nepal

Dear Friend,

Several days ago, yet again, a second major earthquake occurred in Nepal and people live in fear amid the ruins as they struggle to survive. 

The reality of the devastation by two major earthquakes is creating a really dire situation. Many ancient Stupas, schools, hospitals, and homes have been completely demolished or badly damaged.  Since the first earthquake on 25^th April, the death toll has been mounting and now exceeds 9,000, with over 17,000 injured and 2 million homeless. 

The rainy season is fast approaching, and the Nepali people will have to find bare shelter outdoors. Rebuilding of homes can only begin after the rainy season ends. There are dwindling water supplies, food scarcities, power shortages, and communication breakdowns.

 The prevention of disease is a major challenge - children especially are extremely susceptible.

One million children have been affected by the earthquake and are in urgent need of humanitarian help. As you read this letter, one million tents and countless beds in field hospitals are needed right away.  

In compassionate response to this unfortunate situation, His Eminence Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche has asked Wencheng Gongzhu Malaysia to continue the fundraising efforts that Wencheng Gongzhu International Foundation, Hong Kong, has initiated. 

This fundraising effort is a great opportunity to offer aid and relief to the most vulnerable victims of the earthquake—the unfortunate children.

All proceeds go directly to Nepalese children. On the 13^th June 2015, H.E. Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche will be conducting a massive 49-day Puja for the victims of the earthquake at Shyalpa Monastery in Kathmandu and funds will be distributed at this time.  

The international media and representatives from various countries will be there to witness.

3. There is a fundraising auction of hand-painted Tibetan Thangkas, Nepali artifacts, and collectors’ items from Malaysia’s own world ranking sportsman, Datuk Lee Chong Wei and other Malaysian personalities.
