Tourism Western Australia Events Calendar
April to June 2016 
APRIL
York Motorcycle Festival
April 16 to 18
Northam, Experience Perth
York Motorcycle Festival is held on Avon Terrace, York, which is around a 90 minute drive from Perth. Market and trade stalls will be set up along the street displaying a range of products and services. Entertainment will be scheduled throughout the family-friendly festival and highlights will include freestyle motocross demonstrations, live music, junior moto gymkhana, custom bike displays, raffles and children's activities. Local businesses will be open for the day with plenty of food and drink available to purchase.

Quit Forest Rally
April 22 to 24
Nannup/Busselton, Australia’s South West
Western Australia's round of the Australian Rally Championship attracts Australia's best cars and drivers, including the best classic cars. The rally also incorporates motor bikes, and with more than 200 cars and bikes expected to compete across the weekend the Quit Forest Rally is a motorsport extravaganza you don't want to miss.

SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon
May 5 to 8
Busselton, Australia’s South West
The popular SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon is a three day festival incorporating the Busselton IronMan 70.3 triathlon which provides a challenging course for competitors. Participants will swim 1.9 kilometres, ride 90.1 kilometres and run 21.1 kilometres. The festival will also hold the SunSmart Kids Triathlon for seven to 15 year olds.

Moondyne Festival
May 1

Once again the town of Toodyay steps back in time to celebrate the annual Moondyne Festival, bringing infamous Moondyne Joe and his various escapades back to life. The Moondyne Festival is a display of life during the pioneer years from the re-enactment of the 1860 Rifle Regiment to the grace and favour of the enchanting Clydesdale horses. With a variety of stalls, exhibitions, games and rides there is something for everyone at this family fun day.

Vancouver Street Festival

The Vancouver Street Festival is a large-scale street festival held in conjunction with the Western Australia Heritage Festival. The event will focus on the historic Vancouver Street in Albany with a program featuring music, markets, heritage tours, visual arts, street entertainment and Great Southern food and wine.

First National Kimberley Lake Argyle Swim

Kununurra, Australia’s North West
The Lake Argyle Swim is a 10km and 20km open water swim which offers solo, duo and teams of four categories. The event takes place in the East Kimberley in the fresh water lake. Lake Argyle is Australia’s second largest manmade lake, holding a staggering 32 million cubic metres of water – more than 20 times the size of Sydney Harbour. Long since recognised as one of the most spectacular places to visit in Australia, the Lake Argyle Swim provides experienced swimmers with an unsurpassed outback adventure. 

TX Civil and Logistics WA PGA Championship
May 12 to 15
Kalgoorlie, Australia’s Golden Outback
The 2016 TX Civil and Logistics WA PGA Championship will be played at Kalgoorlie Golf Club in the Golden Outback town from October 29 to November 1. Being played for a prize purse of AU$120,000, the winner also received Official World Golf Ranking Points and becomes fully exempt on to the PGA Tour of Australasia for the remainder of the season, plus a further two years.

Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster

East Kimberley, Australia’s North West
Set in the ancient landscape of the Kimberley in WA’s North West, this year’s Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster features an exciting line-up of top Australian culinary, music and entertainment luminaries. Former Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning will perform alongside six-time ARIA nominated Fremantle band San Cisco and country music singer-songwriter Troy Casser Daley, while Masterchef Australia judge and decorated chef and restauranteur George Colombaris will be leading the event’s culinary creations at the Kimberley Kitchen and Durack Homestead Dinner. A festival highlight, the Kimberley Moon Experience concert will be staged under the stars alongside the banks of the Ord River at the Jim Hughes Amphitheatre.

Mount Magnet Astro Rocks Fest

Mount Magnet, Australia’s Golden Outback
The Mount Magnet Astro Rocks Fest includes Aboriginal rock art workshops, rock collection displays, astro photography viewing and presentations and night sky observing with Aboriginal interpretation. There will also be science shows, an outdoor cinema screening, children’s galactic displays and students’ astro art display.

Ningaloo Whale Shark Festival

Exmouth, Australia’s Coral Coast
The Ningaloo Whaleshark Festival is an annual event held in and around the town of Exmouth. The festival celebrates the annual migration of the whale shark, its conservation and the tourism industry it supports. It also provides an opportunity for Exmouth to showcase its talents and raise awareness of its various organisations and sporting clubs.

Denmark Festival of Voice

Denmark, Australia’s South West
Celebrating the human voice, the Denmark Festival of Voice features free community concerts and workshops, bringing together local, national and international artists performing a cappella and accompanies by choirs, ensembles and groups.

Jazz by the Bay
June 3 to 5
Dunsborough, Australia’s South West
Jazz by the Bay delivers a smorgasbord of talent - from trad and gypsy, to fusion and syncopated rhythm artists. Free and ticketed community events will be held in the heart of Dunsborough in WA’s Margaret River region. Visitors are urged to book their accommodation in advance so they don’t miss out on this fun and exciting weekend, featuring entertainers fresh from the Perth International Jazz Festival.

Pinjarra Festival

Mullewa Muster and Rodeo

Come and experience the red dust, rodeo action, country music and big skies in the outback at the annual Mullewa Muster and Rodeo. As well as giving away the biggest rodeo prize money in WA, the event will feature an impressive lineup of country music artists including the Wolfe Brothers, Jayne Denham Band, Renegade and Red Ochre..  There will also be bars, burgers, oven pizzas, curries, salads, Asian cuisine and all the sweet things available to visitors.

Leonora Golden Gift

Truffle Kerfuffle

The Truffle Kerfuffle is an annual event highlighting regional food and wine. It's a celebration of the range of cultures which brought about the ability to produce the foods grown in the Southern Forests, the range of foods themselves, as well as a focus on the black truffle. WA produces more black truffle than the rest of Australia combined.
