F&B promos aplenty for variety and value for money



This coming Year of the Fire Rooster will be an eventful and spectacular one at Resorts World Genting. Scenes of joyous celebration will play out resort-wide as the seemingly endless range of activities unfolds, including F&B promotions and special offers.

Join the resort as it celebrates Chinese New Year with a multitude of festivities, including special CHINESE NEW YEAR menus at its various eateries and not just the Chinese restaurants.

Even the buffet spread at outlets like Coffee Terrace in Genting Grand and Rajawali in Awana Hotel will offer menus that include CHINESE NEW YEAR dishes in order to get into the spirit of the occasion.

Genting Palace – 2nd Floor Genting Grand

The majestic Genting Palace Restaurant serves mouth-watering Cantonese cuisine, a wide selection of dim sum, and vegetarian dishes. Comfortable for family gathering and corporate functions, this non-halal restaurant with a palatial setting has ten private dining rooms and a capacity for some 700 people.

This Chinese New Year Genting Palace’s CHINESE NEW YEAR menus are designed for table for four, six and ten ranging from as low as RM568 nett and RM1,288 nett. There are also more elaborate menus ranging from RM1,788 nett to RM7,888. Diners can also order from the a la carte menu.

The most exclusive menu is understandably filled with costly ingredients: dishes like Fortune Fong Sui Abalone and Black Caviar Yee Sang, Mini Buddha Jump Over the Wall with Cordyceps Sinensis, Stir-fried Australian Lobster with Fragrant Garlic & Chilli, Steamed Empurau Fish with Finest Grade Mandarin Peel & Fine Soy Sauce, Charbroiled Sea Cucumber with Three-head Abalone in Superior Stock, Lotus Leaf Rice Stewed with Waxed Sausage & Waxed Meat, and Chilled Bird's Nest & Rock Melon with Snow Lotus & Red Dates.

The basic menu for a table of six, for instance, offers Prosperous Japanese Tuna Yee Sang, Double-boiled Three Treasures with Shark Bone Broth, Steamed River Catfish with Hunan Picked Chilli, Crispy Prawn Ball Salad with Mint Mayonnaise, Roast Duck, Traditional Braised Baked Fish Maw in Claypot, Braised Shanghai Noodles with Scallops, and Sweetened Cream of Red bean with Eight Treasures.

Alternatively, CHINESE NEW YEAR diners can head to Seasons at the Lobby Floor of Genting Grand for lunch or dinner if they want food from the a la carte menu. They can choose from such items as Abalone Yee Sang, Prosperous Salmon Yee Sang, Double-boiled Agarwood Tea with Dried Scallops & Flower Mushroom in Pork Rib Soup, Tossed Spicy Golden Mouse Fungus, Braised Pork Knuckle with Fatt Choy & Sea Cucumber, Abalone with Eight Treasures, Grilled Korean Pork Chop, and Double-boiled Bird's Nest with Honey Dates.

Ltitude – Ground Floor, Genting Grand

The award-winning LTITUDE Restaurant, Bar & Lounge is also located at Genting Grand and operates from 6pm to 10:30pm. Nestled in the exclusive Genting Club, LTITUDE is firmly among the top tier of luxury fine-dining restaurants where diners can indulge in classic dishes coupled with cigars and drinks. LTITUDE’s retractable fireplace and exquisite wines in its tasting room further adds excitement to its ambience and impeccable service.

It is open only to non-Muslims (above 21 years old) and offers excellent choices in its a la carte menu.

This Chinese New Year diners can try Chicken & Pork Bak Kwa with Homemade Soft Rolls, Traditional Yee Sang served with Salmon & Abalone, Chicken Gyoza with Ginger, Coriander & Soya Sauce, Shredded Sweet Turnip, Dried Shrimps & Scallops, and Steamed Giant Pork Ball with Crab Meat Broth.

Ming Ren, 1st floor Maxims

Another option for those celebrating Chinese New Year is Ming Ren at Level 1 of Maxims. The elegant restaurant serves authentic Xinjiang cuisine with a unique blend of Cantonese culinary methods, spices and seasonings. Famous for its “Lamb Specialty Cuisine”, this pork-free establishment with a classy oriental-style interior provides guests the opportunity to taste a new frontier in dining.

The set menus offers gems like Prosperity Jelly Fish Yee Sang, Steamed Red Snapper, Stir-fried Dried Golden Oyster with Assorted Vegetables, Deep-fried Prawn Balls with Fatt Choy, Braised Lamb with Radish, Stir-fried Lily Bulbs with Scallops, and Peppermint Scented Almond Beancurd.



Imperial Rama, Level 1 Maxims

Imperial Rama, an exclusive Chinese with Thai influence cuisine, is one of the favourite restaurant at the resort. This highly-rated restaurant has a captivating menu from the confluence of two cultures, with signature dishes such as Tom Yam Kung, Green Curry Chicken, Stir-fried Prawns with Butter Milk and Durian Tempura. With a grand interior and a setting for a lavish feast, this non-halal outlet can accommodate 168 people inclusive of three private dining rooms.

This Chinese New Year, the restaurant is offering three menus; all meant for 10 pax. Its most exclusive menu features delightful dishes such as Prosperty Abalone Yee Sang, Mini Buddha Jump Over the Wall, Lobster Salad with Roasted Suckling Pig, Steamed Sultan Fish, Steamed Glutinous Rice in Claypot, and Double-boiled Bird's Nest with Chrysanthemum and Ginseng.

The a la carte menu offers CHINESE NEW YEAR staples like Prosperous Abalone Yee Sang, Salmon Yee Sang, Crispy Fresh Arrowhead & Yam, Double-boiled Cordyceps with Chicken & Conch Soup, and Stir-fried Tiger Prawns with Cincalok Paste. All as delicious as they sound!

Good Friends, Level 1 Maxims

Yet another location for good food and ambience is Good Friends Restaurant. Popular for its home cooked dishes particularly Hakka specialties, diners also get to enjoy a cosy and family-friendly atmosphere at the outlet. Its signature dishes include Home Style Braised Streaky Pork with Preserved Vegetables and Braised Sliced Pork with Chinese Wine in Claypot.

There are two CHINESE NEW YEAR menus namely some dishes comprising of Lotus Root & Pork Rump Soup, Braised Dried Oyster with Pork Shoulder & Black Moss, Home Style Steamed Sliced Fish, Steamed Chicken with Cordyceps, and Stir-fried Shrimp with Cauliflower & Bell Peppers. But the a la carte menu is also full of attractive options: Stewed Spring Chicken, Home Style Steamed Catfish, Braised Dried Oyster with Pork Shoulder & Black Moss, and Deep-fried Lobak, among them.

E18teen, 18th floor Maxims

For a memorable CHINESE NEW YEAR meal is e18hteen Inspired Dining. This highly exclusive restaurant and lounge concept is designed to engage people of all ages backed by its quality Cantonese, Japanese, and Western cuisine. Able to accommodate 132 guests, the outlet with a spectacular view also features an open kitchen, chef’s table, poolside barbecue, and a gin and vodka bar.

This eatery offers two festive menus this time round, offering Boston Lobster & Tuna Belly Yee Sang, Double-boiled Prosperity Supreme Soup with South African Abalone,



Cheese Baked American Lobster, Roasted Suckling Pig with Truffle Glutinous Rice, and Double-boiled Bird's Nest with Cordyceps & Quail's Egg.

The a la carte menu is also full of delicious-sounding dishes, including Steamed Free-range Chicken with Onions, Home Style Salt Baked Iberico Pork, Stir-fried Scallops with Fresh Mushrooms, Pan-seared Rainbow Trout, and Deep-fried Chinese Pancake.

Rajawali Coffee House, Awana

Overlooking the Awana golf course, the coffee house has been well-known for its halal buffet that offers a wide selection of local and western delights as well as vegetarian food. An excellent place to treat your family, the relaxing ambience at Rajawali is further enhanced with the fresh mountain air.

Chinese New Year dining can be enjoyed for lunch and dinner at the Rajawali—for as little as RM880 nett for 10 pax. The menu includes Prosperous Salmon Yee Sang, Bamboo Phat with Fish Maw & Chicken Soup, Roasted Duck Home Style, Wok-fried Prawns with Butter Curry Leaf Sauce, Lemongrass Fish Fillet, Three Vegetables with Crab Meat Sauce, Fragrant Chicken Fried Rice with Yam & Dried Shrimp, and Honey Dew Sago Ice Cream with Strawberry & Mint Leaf.

Besides the set menu, one can also opt for the buffet spread that offers a delightful spread of Chinese New Year dishes like Yee Sang. It is available for lunch (noon to 2.30pm) and dinner (6pm to 9.30pm) on 27 and 28 January 2017. Buffet lunch is priced at RM88 nett (adult) and RM58 nett (child), while buffet dinner is priced at XXX.

There is so much to look forward to: the Cold Kitchen offers Yee Sang, Cheese Platter, Smoked & Cold Cuts, and various kinds of salads including Kerabu Sotong and Greek Salad. Over at the Salad Bar, Fresh Genting Garden Salad takes centre stage, along with Julliene carrots, onions rings, croutons and beef bacon with dressings. And if soup is a must, there are many types to satisfy you, namely ABC Chicken Soup, Mixed Vegetable Soup, Cream of Potato Soup, Braised Bamboo Pith with Crab Beancurd Soup, and Mushroom Soup.

The main dishes are equally satisfying: among them, Pineapple Fried Rice, Fried Bee Hoon Singapore Style, Prawns in Butter & Curry Leaf Sauce, Roasted Duck, Braised Chicken with Ginger Sauce, Deep-fried Siakap with Thai Honey Sauce, Fried Prawns with Sweet & Sour Sauce, Braised Sea Cucumber with Seafood & Vegetables, Salted Crab with Kim Heng Sauce, Deep-fried Crab with Chen Sauce, Wok-fried Vegetables with Bamboo Pith and Mushroom, Beef with Ginger & Spring Onion, Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak, Steamed Fish with Asam Pedas Sauce, Lamb Curry with Potatoes, Lamb Shoulder with Hainan Honey Sauce, and Squid with Dry Chili & Cashew Nuts.

Those into western food will no doubt make a beeline for the Western section offering Buttered Herbed Potatoes, Ala-minutes Pasta, Sausages, and Mussels, among others.



There are also stalls offering Assorted Yong Tau Foo, Assam Laksa Noodles, Prawn Mee, Roasted Duck Rice, Chicken Rice, Satay and Fried Carrot Cake.

Guests end their meal on a sweet note: Chinese cookies, assorted cakes, puddings, and jellies are among the items for those with a sweet tooth.

Coffee Terrace, 1st floor Genting Grand

As one of the most spacious dining areas at the resort, Coffee Terrace boasts a bright and modern interior to feature its sumptuous buffet. This pork-free outlet can accommodate some 600 diners and has its food segmented into sections such as Malaysian, Japanese, Western and Chinese. It also has a variety of desserts to whet your appetite.

Available for dinner (5pm to 9.30pm) on 27 January 2017, and for lunch (noon to 2.30pm) and dinner on 28 and 29 January, the buffet spread at Coffee Terrace promises Chinese New Year dishes worth savouring. Buffet lunch is priced at RM68 nett (adult) and RM34 nett (child), while buffet dinner is at RM98 nett (adult) and RM49 nett (child).

The Chinese New Year specialties on the buffet spread, available on a rotation basis, include Prawns & Crab Cocktail on Ice, Fatt Choy Yee Sang, Poultry Parade, Smoked Beef & Pastrami, and Nyonya Platter.

The Local & Chinese section offers such delicious items as Braised Assorted Seafood with Vegetables, Braised Sea Cucumber with Mushrooms & Fish Balls, Braised Lion's Head Meat Ball with Sweet & Sour Sauce, Crispy Fried Prawns with Garlic & Vinegar, Deep-fried Talapia with Fragrant Spices, Deep-fried Soft Shelled Crab, Deep-fried Marinated Chicken Drumstick with Chinese Herb Stock, Fried Crispy Beancurd, Fried Assorted Vegetables with Vegetarian Char Siew, Fried Vegetarian Ribs in Jing Dou Sauce, and Steamed Chai Choy.

At the Action stalls, such dishes as Mee Suah Soup, Deep-fried Crispy Lamb Leg with Chili Mint Sauce, and Coffee Terrace Roasted Denver Lamb Chinese Style beckon, while the Desserts section offers Deep-fried New Year Cake, Puddings, Assorted French Pastries, New Year cookies, cakes, candies, plum pickles, and fresh fruits.

Food Factory, Level 3, First World Plaza

Another F&B outlet offering a sumptuous buffet that includes Chinese New Year dishes is Food Factory. Popular for its Hi-Tea buffet, the pork-free outlet has something to please everyone with its buffet selection encompassing West Asian, East Asian and Western cuisine. It has a contemporary and cosy setting as well as a huge capacity for 1,300 diners at one time.
