CHINESE WOMEN LOOK THEIR NATURAL BEST IN CHEONGSAM OR CHI PAU OR QIPAO AS THIS IS THEIR NATIONAL COSTUME AND ALL CHINESE WOMEN SHOULD WEAR CHEONGSAM NA REGULAR BASIS!
I never understand why all Chinese prefer western attire which is saying our own national clothes are inferior to the western suit, gown or tuxedo! I never see blonde, blue eyed women in Europe wearing cheongsam or saree or kimono! The westerners are perfectly happy and at ease in their own attire, be it frocks, ball gowns, shirts, trousers or blue jeans! No mat salleh in their right mind would ever think of wearing batek, baju Melayu or Mao suits with Nehru collar! So why must Asians ape the westerners as if we are their slaves and they are our superior masters?
I have seen white men wearing samurai-like garments and they looked like they were attending a fancy dress party which was exactly the case! A white woman wearing a cheongsam, saree, baju kebaya or kimono looks exactly like an alien in a Chinese, Indian, Malay or Japanese national costume! Yet we happily copy and wear western clothes made and created by white people for white people.
Worn by our ancestors for hundreds of years through natural evolution, our national costumes made us what we are today and we should be proud to wear them regularly!
