MB&F OFFERS A ONE OF A KIND WATCH IN AID OF CHARITY IN MONACO!

Dear Friends, Over the years, many collectors have asked us to create a Pièce Unique for them… At MB&F we don’t do bespoke pieces, but the Only Watch charity auction is an amazing way to not only get a piece like no other – but also help children in need while you’re at it! The 2017 edition of the biennial Only Watch auction, widely recognised as the world’s most high-profile charity watch event, gathers more than 50 amazing pieces, all one of a kind, from the world’s most prestigious watch brands. The auction takes place this Saturday and all proceeds go to medical research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a genetic disorder primarily affecting children. For the fourth time, MB&F is contributing a unique piece. This year we worked with the very talented 15-year-old Cassandra Legendre: a child creating something to help other children, who have been denied many of the dreams and opportunities of childhood. Based on Horological Machine N°8, this Pièce Unique in 18K white gold and grade 5 titanium is instantly recognisable thanks to its special sapphire crystal pane – engraved and metallised with a whimsical drawing created by the talented young Cassandra. Visible under the illustration, a unique purple winding rotor. Check the lateral time display and you’ll notice a miniature white gold elephant between the hour and minute prisms; the elephant was sculpted by engraver Olivier Kuhn based on the elephant in Cassandra’s drawing. Final touch: a happy face – symbolising the childlike perspective that Legendre brings to HM8 – has replaced the MB&F logo on the double-screwed plate. The success of Only Watch is based on the generosity of the organisers, partners, watch brands… and most importantly, the collectors! Interested?
