Explained Yang Du Mulia Tengku Kin, "First I love and collect sea shells as I was fascinated by their shapes, sizes and colours. I started collecting shells when I was 6 growing up in Kota Baru in Kelantan where my family would visit the many beautiful beaches most weekends. There I would scour the shore line hoping to find pretty shells.
"I love all types of shells but my favorite is the Nautilus as this is an ancient living fossil whose shape has remained unchanged for millions of years. The spiral design is also inherent in nature. Today I have over 1,500 nautilus shells! All stored in warehouses!
"I also must mention cowry shells were used in barter trade before currency notes and coins came into being so shells have always had intrinsic value and appreciated in all cultures. Indeed chiefs and tribal leaders adorned themselves with shell necklaces and jewellery and even today shells are held in high esteem. So using the shell as my logo and name seem like a natural progression. Also the spiral design inside the nautilus shell can be replicated indefinitely---exactly like our SLC k-coins which can increase in value without limits!
