Friday January 3, 2020 THE SURIA QUEEN’S GALA
The unique fashion and art show was held on January 3rd, 2020 at the Royal Foyer of Istana Budaya.
The event was organized by Natalya Bronzova, a Russian artist, Beauty Queen and social entrepreneur. She is known for various charitable and cultural projects and exchanges with the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture of Malaysia.
Natalya promotes among the foreign communities, Malaysian national costumes like Kebaya, Cheongsam and Saree which were the highlights of the Suria Queen’s Gala.
The previous project by Natalya was the Beauty pageant Ms. Russia Kebaya & Ms. Philippines Kebaya for foreigners living in KL held at MATIC in September 2019 under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, Art & Culture.
It was a beautiful multicultural exchange supported by several embassies. There is no doubt organiser Natalya Bronzova deserves her title of « Ambassador for Art & Beauty ».
The glorious event Suria Queen’s Gala, held on January 3 at Istana Budaya was attended by high ranking Guests of Honour including Y.D.M. Tengku M. Kin Eezaz, Y.M. Tengku Puteri Rosmawini, President of Agro Malaysia Dato Sri G. Gnanaraja, Director General of the National Theatre Dato’ Mohamed Juhari Shaarani, Tan Sri Ahmad Dodi Al Wahid, Style Icons President Datin Maylene Yong and DCM of the Philippines Embassy Anne Louis.
Twenty Beauty Queens presented a spectacular catwalk down the splendid marble stairway of the Royal Foyer, showing the works of six designer houses: Emmy Natila, Rudras Cotton, Maya Silk, Oscar Ng, Shingary & Natalya Bronzova.
The “Bronze Butterfly” was awarded this year to Tan Sri Ahmad Dodi Al Wahid for his contribution to make this event a success. Natalya created the award, cast in bronze, as a symbol of the Russian-Asian cultural exchange.
At the same event, art works from several artists like Zaki Hadri, Sacha Mirza, Denise Beaucard, Mazlan Noor and Natalya Bronzova were exhibited.
Natalya, hostess of the event, impressed the audience with a majestic white gown of her own design from her The Royal Collection.
The winner of Best Dressed Lady went to Datin Caroline Wong for her spectacular blue dress lit with 100 meters of LED! Datin Caroline Wong came all the way from Ipoh for this gala.
Also very impressive was the singing performance by Datin Maylene Yong and her SIP group. Istana Budaya’s Director General Dato’ M. Mohamed Juhari was impressed the stairway was used as a catwalk and decorated with mannequins.
The audience of some 300 people were fascinated by the show and remained in the foyer long after the spectacular ending with the VVIPs and Beauty Queens posing on the marble stairway!
