MALAYSIA’S YOUNGEST PHILANTHROPIST DONATES RM 10,000 IN PERPETUITY TO CHILDREN’S HOME IN MELAKA

 

ON 28 OF EACH MONTH, A GROUP OF 5 TO 8 EXECUTIVES FROM WINNER DYNASTY GROUP WILL DRIVE FROM KUALA LUMPUR TO MELAKA TO PRESENT RM 10,000 CASH TO THE CHILDREN'S HOME PLUS EXTRA GIFTS LIKE FOOD, DRINKS AND UTENSILS. THE TRIP IS LED BY DATO JOHN LEE, DIRECTOR OF PERTUBUHAN INTEGRITI DATO NICKY LIOW MALAYSIA

Dato Sri Nicky Liow Soon Hee, 32, popularly dubbed ‘Malaysia’s Youngest Philanthropist’ has committed to donating RM 10,000 each month in his lifetime to Handicapped & Mentally Disabled Children Centre Melaka.

“This is a major boost to the centre which has received RM 530,000 cash over 53 months since April 2016. We have 54 kids of various ages from abandoned children to children whose parents come visit but need special care to those suffering from Down’s Syndrome, cerebral palsy, hyper activity, autism or are spastic and victims of abuse.”

Says Thomas a/l Mariasoosai who has been caretaker of Handicapped and Mentally Disabled Children Centre Melaka for over 20 years, “Our founder Rajamanikam a/l Vengadasalam founded Handicapped and Mentally Disabled Children’s Association in Johore in in 1990 and the Melaka branch in 2002. Sadly, Rajamanikam passed away on 3 July 2020. Some children are normal but from poor families while most are physically and/or mentally challenged. We give them food, shelter, safe environment and whatever education and skills possible.”

Notes Malaysia’s Youngest Philanthropist Dato Sri Nicky Liow, “I and my team visited the Melaka home in April 2016 on the recommendation of Francis Tan and Dato John Lee. I was very touched to see the children and even adults in their condition through no fault of their own. I am the father of 3 small children so I really felt the pain and pity. I feel so blessed to have 3 normal kids so instead of a one-off donation, I decided to donate RM 10,000 cash every month till the end of my life and hopefully my kids will continue this tradition!”

The money is personally delivered on the 28th of each month, regular as clockwork. A team from Winner Dynasty Group and Pertubuhan Integriti Nicky Liow( Nicky Liow Integrity Founndation) will drive from KL to Melaka to deliver the money plus they will bring food, drinks and household utensils.
