ONCE THE NEW MISS MALAYSIA WORLD 2013 MELINDER KAUR BHULLAR WAS CROWNED AND DULY PHOTOGRAPHED, AN AFTER-PARTY WAS HELD AT NEARBY CORUS 2 FUNCTION ROOM FOR WINNERS, FAMILIES, GUESTS AND SUPPORTERS.
Wine flowed and snacks were for the taking. Dato Anna Lim was interviewed by the media who focused on the 4 Muslim girls dropped by Miss Malaysia World. When asked if she was under pressure she replied coolly in Malay, "No, I am not under pressure at all. Why should I since I did nothing wrong? I simply obeyed the law and followed all instructions so I was never under pressure. You only become stressed when you break the law."
As to why the 4 Muslim candidates did not turn up as guests, Dato Anna Lim said, "Perhaps they had other more important engagements or they did not wish to get involved in any unnecessary trouble. Some said they would be arrested if they attend even as guests to watch the show. But all is well and the finals was a big success so I am very happy we have a worthy new Miss Malaysia World 2013 Melinder Kaur."
Of the Top 5, three were Indians which proved all was fair as only those who received the highest marks made it. Anyway beauty contests are dominated by Chinese, Indians and Eurasians since 1996 when Muslim girls were banned from participating.
Most winners tend to be Eurasians like Chloe Chen, Nadia Heng, Kimberley Legget and Deborah Henry.
