Garden of Love
Dorian
Ho 2013 Bridal Collection “Garden of Love” is inspired by the beauty of fresh flowers
and the romanticism of a garden wedding. The collection illustrates the contemporary
silhouette with embellished details accentuating the delicacy of flower petals.
The classic A-line silhouette volumized with tiers of tulle gives a fuller
skirt without sacrificing lightness. The everlasting long-sleeved lace slim
dress with a touch of diamante is still undoubtedly a dream for all. This
collection uses light fabric such Chantilly Lace, tulle, silk chiffon which
creates a romantic feeling and yet adding a modern touch to it. The handcrafted
three-dimensional floral appliques and beaded floral embroidered patterns
enrich the detailing of the skirts, reflecting the uniqueness of each
individual. Each dress aims to evoke the subtle elegance and delicate
femininity of one’s self.
Falling Petals
The first season of Doll By Dorian Ho named “Falling Petals”. In a season blooming with young romantic femininity, the collection
illustrates the postures of the petals when they fall , describes perfectly the
collection which accentuates the beauty and delicacy of flower petals in
different colors and softness, by applying the lightness of fabric , the diamante detail and petal-like appliqué,
it beautify the dreamy and romantic collection with a more glamorous finish. In an abundance of ruffles ,
appliques , silks, glittering sequins, feather and twinkling diamante, a girlish yet elegant occasional
wear collection was born. Naturally the collection spells graceful dresses in
pastels and diamante, but also works in trends, prettifying camouflage with
tulles, beautifying rhinestone and contemporary silhouette , also with
different kind of flower color like Dusty Pink , Lavender, Peach-rose, Beige and the timeless Lily
White.
About the Pearl Wedding Gown
This is the first-ever
collaboration between Dorian Ho and Perrier-Jouët,
with Perrier-Jouët as
an elegant source of inspiration for the pearl wedding gown. The idea was stimulated during Dorian’s
travel to a fashion week in Paris and visit to the Perrier-Jouët Maison Belle
Époque in Épernay. Whilst working on his new collection of wedding gowns for
Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong’s Bridal Fair, Dorian was inspired by the embossed
artistic anemone pattern design on the bottle of the premium Perrier-Jouët
Belle Époque, which was then dazzlingly transposed into the design of the
champagne-themed gown. Further inspiration came from what is inside the
bottle, dripping with silvery-white pearls that resemble the bubbles of
Perrier-Jouët champagne.
Commenting
on the new collection, Dorian Ho said, “Perrier-Jouët
has long embraced the design community
and partnered with different artists. It
is my honor to be the first designer to create a wedding gown for the brand
with such an elegant source of inspiration. I
have tried to produce something that aspires to the same level of rarefied
quality and delightful effervescence.”
