EMIRATES INCREASES FLIGHTS TO 26 PER WEEK FROM KL TO DUBAI!

KEE@FSWMAG.COM

EMIRATES IS ONE OF THE WORLD'S BEST AIRLINES. NO IFS, BUTS OR MAYBES.

I have flown Emirates many times and can swear on my imperial ancestors's souls in Forbidden City and elsewhere Emirates is among the Top 2 Best Airlines.

From nowhere in the sands of the desert, Emirates has taken off and due to professionals running the airline and not the owner's son or mistress, it has grown into a global behemoth.

Emirates is owned by the Dubai Government aka the Maktoum royal family. Wisely the day to day running are entrusted to the English and Europeans who know what they are doing and not some favoured camel herder so Emirates is one superlative airline. From its hub in Dubai, Emirates flies 2,500 times a week to 125 cities to 74 countries in 6 continents which is something Malaysia Airlines sadly cannot claim.

Miraculously its fares are low despite all the glam perks and prestige. Dubai Airport is so loaded with great bargains many Malaysians purposely make a stopover enroute to Europe (even if they can fly direct) to take advantage of such offers.

Emirates to Strengthen Links between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur
Airline to increase flight frequency to 26 times a week

Emirates Airline, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, will further strengthen ties between Malaysia and the UAE when it increases its flight frequency between the two countries, offering more options and excellent connectivity to its passengers flying from KL to Dubai and beyond.

Beginning 3rd December 2012, the airline will increase the number of flights on the Dubai-Kuala Lumpur route from three times daily currently to 25 times a week, increasing to 26 times a week from 1st February 2013, adding an extra 2,370 seats per week between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur.

According to Kavin Martinus, Country Manager for Emirates in Malaysia, this increase in frequency follows strong and increasing demand for flights from passengers. He said, “In recent years, Malaysia has grown to become a leading destination for business and leisure travellers from the Middle East and Europe. We are also seeing a healthy growth of the outbound tourism market as Malaysians increasingly embark on overseas holidays. This increase in flight frequency will be able to provide inbound and outbound passengers with more options of departure times to suit their travelling needs. They will now have even more convenient access to numerous Emirates' destinations around the world while enjoying the ultimate travel experience.”

Emirates will introduce an extra four flights a week to Kuala Lumpur from Dubai starting 3rd December on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with the flight on a Wednesday beginning on 6th February 2013.

The new service EK344, operated by an Airbus A330-200, will depart Dubai at 9.45pm (local time) and arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 8.50am the following day. The return flight, EK345 departs Kuala Lumpur at 11.00am arriving in Dubai at 2.30pm.

The increased capacity between the two hubs will not only boost inbound and outbound tourism, it will also fortify the already strong trade ties that UAE and Malaysia currently enjoy.

The UAE is Malaysia’s largest trade partner in West Asia region. Malaysia’s trade with the UAE in 2011 stood at USD7.1 billion out of which Malaysia exported goods worth USD4.3 billion. Major exports included electrical and electronic goods, jewellery, vegetable oil, furniture, computer parts and building materials.

Cargo will also receive an impetus, with an extra 85 tonnes per week, per direction on the Dubai-Kuala Lumpur service.

Kavin Martinus added, “The announcement cements Malaysia’s position as one of the key markets for the airline in the region with the Dubai-Kuala Lumpur route having undergone two frequency increases within the last three years.”

In 2009, the airline increased its flight frequency to 14 flights weekly. A year later, it increased the number of flights to 21 weekly flights and also inaugurated its Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne non-stop service, offering a daily connection between the two cities.

In January this year, Emirates created aviation history when it commenced its flagship Airbus A380 flight into KLIA, becoming the first airline to operate a scheduled A380 flight into the country.

Emirates began services to Kuala Lumpur in 1996, and today continue to offer its passengers the best on-board product, including the award-winning ‘ice’, the industry’s most sophisticated video and audio system, offering 1,400 channels of on-demand entertainment - the largest selection of programming in the sky.
