THE MALAYSIA MODEL FESTIVAL AWARDS 2012 AND ASIA NEW STAR MODEL CONTEST WERE PRESENTED BY KRONENBOURG 1664 BEER WHICH IS THE MOST FASHIONABLE BEER IN EXISTENCE RIGHT NOW AND THE EVENING AT MARRIOTT PUTRAJAYA WAS A HUGE SUCCESS.Congratulations, Amber!
Of course Amber Chia and Benjamin Toong won practically all the awards they were nominated for Malaysia Model Festival Awards for but they deserve them even though they were the organisers! But sponsor Kronenbourg 1664 MD Soren Ravn told me all was in order and there was no hanky-panky.
Anyway, now that Amber Chia has won the most coveted awards, next year will see a different set of winners as surely she would not be allowed to win on a yearly basis.
The judging for the 25 winners of Malaysia Model Festival Awards were determined by voting from peers, professionals, media members and celebrities.
The 2 top winners will now go to Seoul, Korea to compete in the 8th Asia Model Festival Awards in 2013, provided the world does not end on 21.12.12.
The Female Star Model went to Eryna and the Male Star Model was won by Isaac Ong who deserves it as he has been working so hard for the last two decades. Past winners included Tini, Kelly Jagan, Deborah Henry, KS Tan and Wilson Tan, our first male supermodel.
The evening consisted of 2 events, starting with the finals of ASIA NEW STAR MODEL CONTEST. The male and female winners will also be sent to Seoul to compete in the international finals and stand a chance to be selected by entertainment companies to be part of K-Pop groups!
10 male and 10 female models were selected for the finals through quarter and semi-final rounds. The girls were Gwendolyn Chin (who won), Angelina Tong (1st runner-up), Shona Wee (2nd runner-up), Charmaine Liew, Kimberley Kok, Eileen Chuah, Krystle Arakasamy, Renee Ong, Amelia Henderson and Celeste Chai.
The guys were Josh Ho (the winner), James Ng (1st runner-up though everyone assumed he would win), Jun Ishida (2nd runner-up), Darren Tan, Kenny Mah, Winson Lim, Shanmuga Ratnam, Anson Low, Ardavan Farzi and Ian James Bar.
