I challenge anyone who says she does not deserve to be a Tan Sri!
See, total silence.
To celebrate, famous jeweller Datuk Tracy Ong, owner of fabulous Elegance Club, threw a grand party for 60 people at her new Bangsar showroom and HQ at 120 Jalan Maarof.

There is probably no signed contract but Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh will now wear jewels designed by Datuk Tracy Ong of Elegance Club.
After all, Datuk Tracy Ong is an old family friend of Datin Janet Yeoh, the mother of Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh and a personal friend of Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh herself for the past 15 years.
Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh will glitter in Elegance Club bling in 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon---The Green Destiny' when shooting starts and also in the 2014 movie 'The Golden Age---The Lost Treasure of Cheng Ho'.

TAN
SRI MICHELLE YEOH TO WEAR ELEGANCE CLUB JEWELS
To
celebrate Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh’s latest and biggest title of Panglima Setia
Mahkota which carries the title ‘Tan Sri’, Datuk Tracy Ong of Elegance Club
hosted a grand party in the Bond Girl’s honour.
The
exclusive party was at Elegance Club, the brand new, 3-storey headquarters and
show room at 120 Jalan Maarof.
The
party was held on the eve of the investiture by His Majesty the King of
Malaysia DYMM Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah at Istana Negara.
It
was a double celebration as Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh confirmed she would reprise
her role in the blockbuster ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2---The Green
Destiny’! Tan Sri Michelle will play Shu Lien the same character in the
original movie in which she was nominated for Best Actress in the 2001 BAFTA
film awards.
“This
will be the first time I will act as a Tan Sri! So it is a significant
milestone for me,” said the newly ennobled actress. “I have known Datuk Tracy
Ong for fifteen years and she is an old friend of my mother. I love her jewels
due to their unique designs and interplay of unexpected gems.”
Tan
Sri Michelle Yeoh also wore Elegance Club jewels for the celebratory party at
The Venue in Pavilion KL in the evening of the day she was bestowed the title.
She
added she would be wearing Elegance Club bling not just for gala and premieres
but also during the shoot of ‘Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2---The Green
Destiny’. “Of course the jewels should be relevant and appropriately designed
to reflect the era. We are looking at jade bangle and pearl studs. I like doing
my own stunts whenever I can so I have to take this into consideration as
well!” beamed the new Tan Sri.
Tan
Sri Michelle Yeoh wore a massive diamond ring and matching earrings from Elegance
Club when she received her Panglima Setia Mahkota from the Yang DiPertuan
Agong. She became a Datuk in 2001 when she was awarded the Darjah Datuk Paduka
Mahkota Perak by Sultan Azlan Shah of Perak. Her title was elevated to Datuk
Seri in last year by Sultan Azlan Shah and now Michelle Yeoh has entered
history as the first Chinese actress to be bestowed a Tan Sri title just as P.G
Lim was the first female lawyer to be a Tan Sri.
“This
honour is one I cherish most and means the most to me as I am a Malaysian and I
did not expect to receive two titles in successive years,” said Tan Sri
Michelle Yeoh. Renowned for starring roles in the James Bond hit ‘Tomorrow
Never Dies’, ‘Soong Sisters’, ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’, ‘Silver Hawk’, ‘The
Mummy---Tomb of Dragon Emperor’, ‘The Lady’ and ‘Among the Great Apes with
Michelle Yeoh’ in which she plays herself, she also received France’s
prestigious Legion of Honour by President Jacques Chirac.
After
‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2---The Green Destiny’ she will appear in
another blockbuster ‘The Golden Age; The Lost Treasure of Cheng Ho’. The great
admiral visited Malacca in 1405 and some scenes are supposed to be shot in
Malaysia at the insistence of Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh.
Says
Datuk Tracy Ong, “I will be fashioning classic style Chinese jade and pearl
jewellery for both movies I am hoping she will start a trend for oriental and
imperial style jewellery which pays homage to Chinese culture as by chance she
is appearing in 2 period movies.”
THE
END
