Whale's annual journey
Each year around 22,000 humpback whales migrate from the
Antarctic feeding grounds to Camden Sound, the great 'maternity ward' north
of Broome. They swim through our region during winter and spring, giving us
fantastic whale watching opportunities.

Wine Voices: Sean Blocksidge
“I remember coming down here and people saying “if you can
survive winter in Margaret River I’ll be amazed”. I’d just come from living
in Canada, so I’ve been waiting for winter for 14 years now. Surfing,
fishing, hiking, caving, it’s all here. Mountain biking, I love. Winter is
primo for that."
