Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultanah Pahang Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom, the Sultanah of Pahang and Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Abdul Fahd Mu’adzam Shah Ibni Haji Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in, graced the launch of Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré at The Starling mall on the 28th of August, 2017.
This star-studded event also witnessed the attendance of over 500 guests including celebrity friends like my favorite designer who happens to be Malaysia's best fashion couturier Keith Kee. The honoured VVIPs and guests indulged in the best food and ambience that the restaurant had to offer while celebrating its grand opening.
Hosted by Dato’ Lewre and the Ong brothers of the Friendscino group, the evening also witnessed a breath taking spectacle of fireworks which lit up the night skies at The Starling Mall located in Uptown Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

Dato’ Lewre Lew has travelled the world in search of ideas and inspiration from over 40 countries and over the years he realized that no matter how the cultures and geographical landscapes differed, they all had one thing in common; “Food brings people together.”
Dato’ Lewre and F&B experts Friendscino Group then got together in a joint venture to curate Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré with a fashionistic charm and inject it with a big sense of everyday celebration.
Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré at the Starling mall in Uptown Damansara is now the 10th outlet in the Friendscino Group and the 2nd of the Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré concept since its soft opening in May 2017.
The first outlet is located in TREC Kuala Lumpur which opened its doors in December 2015. Petaling Jaya’s Newest Gem Strategically nestled in The Starling mall in Uptown Damansara with access to the outdoor garden on the Ground Floor, Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré is elegantly furnished and designed. Its interior is inspired by fashion, beauty and fun featuring beautiful gold accent décor.
Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré aims to redefine gastronomical pleasures by injecting fashion and style into its concept. It is the place to be for people of all walks of life, whether they are there for a meal, a drink or to celebrate. The Origin The name in itself is a reflection of the relationship between Dato’ Lewre and Friendscino Group. The year 1940 is actually a reference and tribute to the late father of the Ong brothers’ that owns Friendscino Group.
The Nicsmann name is also reminiscent to the famous movie “Kingsman”, a British secret agent movie featuring gentlemen secret agents wearing clean crisp fashionable suits in traditional London-esque environments that the interior of Nicsmann draws some inspiration from – especially with its gold accent décor.
The entire concept and coming together is an effort that both Dato’ Lewre together with the Friendscino Group takes great pride in. Each Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré will bear its signature concepts, fashion and style inspirations yet include individual differences and customisation to make each store unique in its own way.
Ambience and Setting Set within the enclaves of The Starling Mall, Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré has a seating capacity of more than 200 pax in both its indoor and al-fresco dining area. The 6698 sq/ft location also houses a lounge section that can be cordoned off for private parties and events.
The lounge area comes with bar top seating, high tables as well as electronic dart machines that are accessible to everyone. The interior of the restaurant also features a stage with regular live performances from some of the most talented musicians in town.
The dining area can accommodate your own parties, corporate events as well as birthday parties and other reasons that call for a celebration. The experienced kitchen boasts a full kitchen serving Western fare as well as an Asian menu.
The menu primarily highlights a western fare from appetizers, soups, main courses, pastas, pizzas, burgers and desserts. For the signature starter the ‘Homemade Caesar Salad with Grilled Fresh Salmon Trout’ is generously portioned with a serving of the grilled fresh salmon trout.
This classic salad is re-invented with the fish on top to give it a new dimension of flavours that complements the salad. For the meat lovers, Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré serves a special type of beef called the ‘Meltique Beef’. This beef has enhanced flavours and tenderness thanks to a unique French-inspired method.
The menu item that tantalizes taste buds the most is the “Australian Striploin Meltique Beef.” This 200 grams cut of Australian striploin is the very best of Australian Prime Beef. For the pasta addicts, the Chicken Alla Cacciotore comes with a whole leg of smoked chicken cooked with their special diced capsicum tomato based sauce.
It is described as a hearty meal as it comes with a generous portion of meat. Last but not least, the dessert menu packs a punch for the sweet-toothed diners. The signature dessert is definitely the Signature Dessert Platter.
