Christie’s second Handbags & Accessories auction in Hong Kong saw
fast-paced bidding from start to finish. An enthusiastic and packed saleroom
gathered for an unprecedented selection of more than 300 of the world’s most
coveted handbags.
With its 18k white gold and diamond hardware, Hermès Shiny
Fuchsia Porosus Crocodile Diamond Birkin 35 dazzled the crowds, achieving a
HK$1.72million record. The Hermès Shiny Black Porosus Crocodile Diamond
Sellier Kelly 32 with 18k white gold and diamond hardware also became the
most expensive Kelly ever sold at auction. More than 75% of the lots on offer
achieved prices exceeding their high estimates.
